Free Range Naturism / Re: Encounters...what to do?

Find your place compadre. You have our collective wisdom and your stealth craft. Use it wisely and you shall thrive. Getting caught is never an option. You may have to go further. You may have to remain hyper-vigilant. You may have to limit to finding a place and then disrobing, but you shall be gifted with, not robbed of, your sacred solitude and humanity. To quote the great work of I-Ching, "Perseverance furthers."

I'm ashamed to admit this, but having to be hyper vigilant, simply to be naked,  won't make for a particularly enjoyable day in the countryside.  :-/ I'd rather remain dressed, and enjoy the scenery and relax , rather than be naked, and always being on my guard / hyper vigilant.  :-[

Well, it certainly has been a sad state of affairs. Perhaps the Ochil Hills walker was pushing his boundaries too far by getting too close to others while naked, and getting naked in a busy car park.  I'm certainly more wary of partaking in any free range naturism now, so I'll probably go back to lurking on the forum...   :-X

Another point that is relevant in this case is that he was originally charged with three further, more serious, offences from some time earlier. The authorities later came to the conclusion that these were committed by someone else and dropped them. However, by then he was in the system and we all know how the system does not like to admit mistakes.

In the event, he took a plea bargain that let him go with just an "admonishment". In other words, a record but no punishment. Compared to the expense and hassle of a possible court case, that might be very tempting; I am not sure that I would not have taken the deal, whatever the BN advice.

Have fun (and don't let these vanishingly rare cases get too big a grip on your mind),

Ian.

No punishment, but a criminal record which may have to be declared for employment purposes, particularly if ones employment needs disclosure screening...

The only strange thing about the case that I have heard is that the trigger for his arrest was a telephone call to the police from a woman who had seen him in the distance and had deliberately got closer in order to see whether he was naked.

She was "offended" because she moved in to get a better look.   That is bad.

Pretty bad that the police then used that "getting offended after getting closer for a better look" as a way to charge & arrest the walker.

It's certainly made me realise what impacts getting caught when carrying out free range naturism may have on my life, e.g. arrested, lose job, then lose house as no longer able to pay mortgage.

So I think I'll be curtailing free range naturism.  Sad to do so, but better safe than sorry!

Meanwhile, in Scotland, a free range naturist seemed to gain a criminal record for his troubles...

Worrying times for Scottish free range naturists, as it seems that the police have a lot of time on their hands to hunt down naturists!   >:(

A part of my ancestry came from the Ilse of Skye. I'd like to see some pics and hear about ma roots.

Hopefully I'll get some decent weather for some photography! And some free range naturism as well.

Sadly, no naturist free range naturism opportunities for me last month, or the previous months before that, since I'm recovering from knee surgery for damaged cartilage.  Had the op in november 2015, and I'm almost back to full fitness.

I have a week booked on the Isle of Skye in mid May, so hopefully I'll get some Free Range Naturism in then! Can't wait!

Factory Farmed Naturism / Re: Is Naturism in Decline?
« on: September 15, 2015, 11:31:38 AM »
Memberships in many organizations have declined. My theory is two fold; one, being the overall "me" generation who don't feel any loyalty and two, the cost/return ratio in that the price paid does not equal or exceed the benefits. I doubt if naturism is on the decline just the organized aspect of it.

I think you hit the nail on the head there nudewalker.  For me, in the central belt of Scotland, I'm quite lucky in that there are two naturist swim sessions I can go to.  However they are around 45 to 60 minutes drive each way, for only 2 or 3 hours.  So by the time you add cost of fuel, entry fees, is it good value for money?  Generally yes, but not every weekend!   I certainly wouldn't be wanting to drive for longer than the swim session lasts!

I'm on a naturist holiday at the moment so for a start I'm copying in my profile description from another forum.
I'll get round to adding some more relevant stuff and putting up a proper profile when I get home.

Quote
I am a pensioner and my wife and I have been naturists for 35 years.
I'm into home, garden, beach, club visit, free-range and holiday naturism and particularly enjoy doing ordinary everyday activities naked.
Holiday naturism is mainly in France and Fuerteventura.
I also enjoy canal boating, cycling and swimming and regret that most locations for these are incompatible with naturism.

Hello JOhnGW!   :)

Free Range Naturism / Re: Naked Trigpointing

Thread resurrection!

I've done a few naked trigpoints in my time, including a few arty-farty self portrait ones using camera, tripod and filters!  At least doing it this way if anyone comes you can always explain yourself by saying you are taking "artistic" nude self portaits for art / photography class!

Just trying to find a couple of examples which are lost somewhere in my computers mass of files!  ::)

I have a few cameras, however the one that I use mostly when I'm out on my bicycle / rambling of going for spot of free range naturism is my trusty Canon A590IS.

It's a pretty basic camera by modern standards, only 8m, however it does offer full manual mode (plus with hacked firmware, raw capture).  One of the best features of this camera, ideal for free range naturism self portraits is it's programmable self timer. You can choose any delay up to 30 seconds, and the camera can then be set to take 1 to 10 shots.  Ideal for giving you time to get into frame and pose!

My other cameras are a Pentax K100D DSLR, with a selection of lenses, Pentax 18-55mm, Tamron 70-300, Zenitar 16mm fisheye, and a sigma 10-20mm.  I mainly use this camera with tripod if I'm doing landscape photography - it's a bit of a bulk to carry, however the increase in picture quality is worth it.

This year (as a post graduation from college as a mature student gift to myself) I bought myself a nice bridge camera, a Canon SX40HS. Quite a remarkable camera, 35X stabilized optical zoom (24-840mm) Using its in built digital 2.0 teleconverter I've successfully captured photos of birds on a pond at 1680mm hand held.  Still figuring out how best to use the camera for macro.  Ideal for a "nature camera" if I'm out for a walk / birding.

Still a bit bulky though compared to my trusty A590is.

Hello Karla & Stuart.  It's great to see you are back online - your adventures are very inspiring!

So I thought I'd introduce myself.  I see myself as a free range naturist at heart. Although I have dabbled in "club" naturism at club swims, I found that I much preferred to be naked in the great outdoors.  I also found the cost of getting to swims quite expensive (Fuel, entry, memberships etc).

I suppose I'm quite fortunate that in living in East Central Scotland I have quite easy access to lots of nice scenic free range naturism friendly places such as Perthshire hills, Ochills etc.
Unfortunately, being between employment at the moment means that funds ( and motivation!) are a bit limited, so can't really afford to travel far!  I have has some free range naturist adventures powered by (pedal) bicycle though - including one in the snow!  Despite my nickname I haven't partaken in naked archery!

So anyway, that's me saying Hello!
