Having once experienced similar, I always roll down the window before I get out of a car with the key in the ignition.

And... although this item does not apply to leaving the car while in the buff....  My key ring has two car keys (per vehicle -- I have three).  One is on the main ring.  The other(s) is on a detachable smaller ring. When I unlock the car, I put the main ring back in my pocket.  Thus, if I lock myself out, I still have the second key. 
Even as meticulous as I try to be with the "primary" key, the second key has saved me numerous times thru the decades.

Looking at magnetic key holders online, I cannot find the original style made of steel. 
But there is clearly a difference in how the plastic ones are made.  Three examples follow.



This (above) resembles one I bought recently.  Two small magnets.  Mine is only suitable for hiding the key while the car is parked.




This one (above) looks much better.  One big magnet with steel edges is how the old steel ones were made.




Similar here (above), and this one is extra large for modern keys with electronics in the handle.

I agree, ReubenT.   The new plastic boxes with wimpy magnets are not suitable for driving, unless the car has a "pocket" of some sort for it to tuck into.  But they are OK for while parked.

The original steel ones have such a good magnet it can be almost difficult to pull them free.  Those are great for long term emergency lockout rescue.

And... I've been known to run a wire from the ignition circuit to ground thru a hidden toggle switch.  Of course, with modern cars, you would want to research how to do it so you don't fry any electronics.

I use magnetic key boxes.  One is permanently hidden where I can get to it in an emergency, and one is for short term use such as when going swimming. 
The original type is steel with a good strong magnet.
The newer ones are plastic, with weaker magnets, but still usable.

Modern cars have plastic inner fenders and such, but I can still find a good place to tuck the magnetic box with a discrete motion.

We... ...went out walking every day naked as a group along set paths. We walked by many other hill walkers who were clothed. People don't mind if the whole group is naked. They are more concerned if it's a single person. Apparently even just having a dog with you helps.  ...

This jumped out at me!  This concept is vital to promoting wholesome Naturist values.  Much of the current fear of nudity is rooted in the lone pervert.  Ask any lady -- she probably encountered one in her youth.  That's what we are up against.  And the more there are of us in a group, the more legitimate we appear.  Remember Arlo Guthrie -- ...they might think it's a movement".  And that's what it is.

Awww....  I was scrolling full speed down so I could post some clever clue about Alice.  And then it turned out lots of you beat me to it.  LOL 
But hey... that's an excellent sentiment.  The textile-addicted masses can become accustomed to anything new.  We just need to give them the new stuff.
