Trip reports / Nude Across America Pt.10: Skinny-dip Falls
« on: October 13, 2021, 07:49:29 PM »
We took a ride down to Skinny-dip Falls in southwestern New York, while visiting DF's brother. He hadn't been to anyplace like that. They were good sports about it all, but strangely, it was uncomfortable for her to be nude in front of her brother after a lifetime of conditioning.

The place is wonderful. I could spend some time hanging out there.

Getting inti Missouri, we contemplate our naturist heritage and literary references and modern day reactions to it. With all of this information available, people just seem to remain ignorant, held captive by their beliefs, wired at a young age and clouding the ever judgemental conceptions of man.

We get naked and look back at a simpler time.

We visit the UFO museum in Roswell, New Mexico and then travel across the Great Plains to a lake, trees and fresh cut grass. I feel like I've landed on another planet!

General Naturism Discussion / Nudity as Carnival
« on: August 27, 2021, 03:16:20 AM »
In that latest issue of “N” magazine (40.4 summer 2021), there is an article in the N-sight section “Public Nudity as Carnival.”

It brings up a question and attempts to answer it. Why there is tolerance for nude events like WNBR or Monte Gras, but the next day, a single individual could be arrested for even discretely being nude?

One of a few answers is that these events, going back clear into medieval times, were a sort of cap and place for a social something to let out steam. Sort of like football letting certain primitive tribal parts of humanity get out in a socially acceptable manner.

The acceptance actually puts the behaviors and the nudity in a box, in its place, and the message that it isn’t okay the rest of the time is reinforced. It is sort of like placing nudity in a pen and under control.

It is however, also to be considered a beachhead. It brings nudity to light. It shows it as okay and harmless and good clean fun to others that might not be exposed to nudity, as just that. It gives people a chance to practice nudity in more public areas, who wouldn’t have an outlet otherwise. It helps the concept and acceptance of free range nudity to grow into the more general society. It educates.

This nudity in a carnival situation and the idea of free beaches seem to go hand in hand and equally are tools towards an end.

Naturism & Art / Cover Girl!
« on: August 27, 2021, 03:10:00 AM »
Just got the latest issue of "N" magazine in the mail. Guess who is the cover girl!

When we were asked, the original picture with both of us was going to be used. This is what came in the mail.

She knew it was coming, but she had the strangest look on her face as she saw herself, as I pulled it out of the white envelope, whisper singing, "On the Cover of the Rolling Stone" by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show.

She was on the cover once before in a group photo, she of course is on the website each week or so, she has been in the pages of the magazine several times before, this ain't no staple in her belly button (good), but I think it hit as sort of a surreal experience.

A photo of us and one that I shot are back in the pages of this issue.

General Naturism Discussion / Where does it end? Old clothing
« on: August 21, 2021, 07:34:16 AM »
I choose carefully the first time, then take care of clothing, making sure that it is washed gently to last longer. When it is actually worn out, it becomes often old stuff to work in and then finally rags. There is ultimately little waste, I don't wear clothing very often, so it last longer, fewer washes is much less pollution and water wasting. I'm pretty good about it, I get no flack for how I dress when I do.

BUT, here is the rest of the world's effects on the rest of the world. Those togs ain't biodegradable. They pollute, they blacken skies, the stuff lays around like nuclear half life in huge dumps.
Clothing culture is just a very bad thing:

Not green very impracticable and hugely wasteful.

I'm going to go get some of the throw-aways from the Good Will store. I have grass that is out of control and competing with my trees for water and soil. I'm told that a layer of cloth with mulch placed over it will suffocate the grass and weeds. It isn't organic but it controls a problem for the trees.

Nude Across America:Pt.2

After our traipse in the White Sands National Monument, we found a wonderful campsite at the base of the mountains on the east side of the Tularosa Valley. In the night, I stand naked, watching a flying disk doing incredible maneuvers out in the bright moonlight....

So, I typed in “nude hiking” on Google. I got all of this, where I would least expect it, presented as a legit hiking practice! These are a few of dozens of positive web addresses. I actually went through seven pages before I began to find things like “pornhub” begin to leak through! We are definitely a thing and this is what our face is on the internet!
