A lovely cameo.

I've managed to do a few full moon late night walks when we are camping. Everything seems so clear, fresh and clan. Nice write up Jbee  it does invoke memories!

How nice!  You don't say the time of night.  One can conclude that after dinner might be 8pm?  Or was it the wee small hours?
I'd be interested to fill in that point.

Probably 9:30 to 1:00, give or take a half an hour. I'm pretty sure that it was a weekend. Such detail after 14 years is shakey information.

Yeah, good memories.

I remember a couple of hikes in the middle of the night when camping. I was in Death Valley once and Great Basin, another. Death Valley was below sea level and Silver Cliff campground in Great Basin at about 7200 ft.

Nudewalker is right, it changes the landscape. Mostly everything seems black and white and where I was it was quiet as the grave. Since I was naked I was out well after midnight on both.

There's an article in "N" magazine about full moon walking/hiking/naking in the desert, this latest issue.
