Where would you have people live, then? I think there will be someone to object to a new house no matter where it might be built, even on a vacant lot in the city.

Exactly.   Bring in another million people and you have chosen to have half a million more homes.   

Of course NIMBY is also popular everywhere.

Another million? Put them up in the Phoenix area. There are more jobs there, some higher wages, urban sprawl, centralized out of control big government, they have more water, they can live in a sweltering stressful Los Angeles environment. They like that up there. Down here, we appreciate what we have. We don't need anymore big businesses coming here and exploiting our natural blessings and destroying our lifestyle. I would like to succeed from that Sh**thole and start the new state of Baja Arizona. Better to preserve a quality of life and a lifestyle than to grow into a sh**thole.

No offense but you're using a term that our beloved fearless leader uses to describe certain other countries in the world. If you'd like to know of a few places that big business has abandoned and government is anything but out of control, I can name a few.

Luckily for us words don’t belong to individuals. One of the blessings we enjoy in this country. Places like that exist but they are few. One group sees a s***hole others enjoy living there and see something different. It’s all perspective.

I have lived in big cities and no longer like them. Where I live now was a mid-sized town when I moved here. Big corporations have transformed it into another big city. Some may look at it and see a s***hole. I see an annoying big city no different than any other.

Time will come I will, as Ben Rumson did, “Pick up and blow!”.

Funny you should ask. I was going to say he's at his church in Cambridge, but I looked him up, and that quote really showed his major interest:
"Small resigned in September 2015 to devote his energies to climate advocacy. He is currently Minister for Climate Justice at Arlington Street Church, Boston, and Director of Faith Outreach for Climate XChange, which advocates for carbon pricing legislation in Massachusetts." (Both First Parish in Cambridge and Arlington Street in Boston are very prominent churches. This guy's not hiding his light under a bushel, as Christians say.)
