Thoreau said that???
Back then they were laughing at fashion, too???
Good quote, but you just made that up, right?
I used to like my pants tight. Too much material gets in the way and is hot and heavy. Clinging, it is like good armor, the weight is distributed. Of course there were the movement restrictions, unlike armor. Often, especially Levis, they stayed on even if the waistband was'nt tight, unless your refrigerator repair type of body.Baggy hid the body, for a single guy to be out there and get laid, he had to show off the goods to some extent...lo culture, personal goals and sacrifices...I liked the tight shorts, too. Couldn't look up the pant leg with those. Fashion is so tasteless, when looking back on it. Hair styles are all ridicules, but somehow they get people to secume to destroying their natural attractive hair.
So I have dropped out. Even fashion has dropped out of fashion. I'm still looking into different pants with the change from baggy. For $120 plus, there are tailored pants with ingenious elastic waist and more classic conventional cuts. That's ridiculous, except as an investment for work. I'd prefer an elastic waist band like lounging pants with a shirttail out. When hiking/camping, when it gets cold, I have a pair of techy thermal longjohns that are pretty much non-restrictive, but they don't cut it on the street.
