Not Getting Lost: Pt. 1 and Pt. 2
« on: July 23, 2021, 06:48:27 AM »
Somebody asked how we navigate on our walks, etc. I decided to put that info into a trip report on our website to explain. We got a bit lost and had to change course.

These reports are clearly written Jbee and part 1 unusually discloses your caution about safety and indeed not getting lost - as does the bit about dark falling in the 2nd one.  You and DF seem so carefree in your reports and it's good to see that amongst the joy in walking naked in nature is a becoming thread of care and caution in what can be, as you clearly relate, most inhospitable territory.

The other notable  feature of this report, being fairly recent, is that you have trimmed your beard.  I have to admit you were looking a bit too whacky in that large grey beard and the shorter cut I think suits you better.  The reverse is true for Bob! :D

Thanks for posting, as ever

I didn't know that I even had a beard when I began it. I was too sick to waste energy standing and shaving for three months and it just appeared. As the year went on, I had to experiment and just let it go. Then covid hit.

Old pics stun me, now. So, I had some fun trimming it in various ways, until I got it down to its closer trim. I have come to like it and it is easy. It is always changing. The shorter version with the long stash is now my baseline.

When it gets a certain length, I tend to play with it with my hands, even absentmindedly. That's how the goatee of my twenties ended. The stroking and pulling drives DF nuts, so it needs to be just short of that.

I think that in a lifetime, it must be explored at least once.

Ha ha!  I relate to the spousal irritation with beard tugging.  I often find myself pensively fiddling with the chin area of my goatee beard and my wife pats my hand aside like a child nose picking!  :D
