Super Bloom

On occasions, the desert explodes with flowering colors depending on the timing of rains and temperatures. This year is being termed a "Super Bloom". DF and I did a carnudist cruise on our way back from the hot springs via the Apache Reservation a couple of weeks ago.

"carnudist" I don't think that I have used that term/label before. Always "carnuding", "carnude." Would you suppose that it could be "autonudista" in Spanish? I suppose so, seeing as how it ain't officially English either.

Incredible - showy flowers as far as the eye can see! Why is everything in the US so big and spectacular?

It is usually just a big and spectacular creosote desert, very common, then every so often it does this....
So, we take notice of the small, the unique, the respectable, tiny wonders and find amazement.
Not to be confused with Texas, of course.

Jbee, I can't image you would give much thought to holding onto your kilt in a breeze, especially when your attention has better things to focus on. Anyone finding offense at a wardrobe malfunction is guilty of voyeurism, malfunctions happen.
We have a ritual each Spring to drive out to the hills to see the State flower in bloom. The Bluebonnets, along with the Indian Paintbrushes, provide a brilliant and photogenic display. There is also an accompanying disagreement about the legality and logic behind trespassing to trample the State flowers in the attempt to obtain family photos.
The desert continues to amaze and inspire me. Thanks for your continued efforts to that end and for the entertainment too!
