Hello all. I've been attracted to the idea of outdoor naturism for many years now, and I've done it in all kinds of circumstances, secret and open, though it’s only when someone else is in charge that I'll reach the "blatant" level! I've also lived on both sides of the Atlantic, so I appreciate the multi-national aspect of this group.
I've visited resorts, but I've never much enjoyed the "factory farmed" style of naturism. It's good to be naked, but it's not so satisfying to know that one is still wearing walls and fences! After a long period of being a lone naturist most of the time—only occasionally finding a person to join up with for hikes or paddles—I feel very fortunate that someone in my area started a nude outdoors group that's been successful for a few years. It has members from several of the New England states (for the geographically challenged, New England is the area of 6 states in the extreme northeast of the USA) and each year we rent a house in Vermont, where laws and attitudes are most tolerant, from which we do day hikes, canoe trips and especially visit any swimming hole that we can find. In 2014, three of us traveled to Austria to join Richard Foley's Naked European Walking Tour, a trip we tell each other we have to repeat. And in England, I've done several walks with the Singles Outdoor Club.
I knew about the Secret Naturist Society, but didn't join. This seems like my kind of group, however, and thanks to Stuart and Karla for getting it going. I'm sorry that I didn’t notice it for a long time, but we have had slight contact in the past--I did post a message on the visitors' page of the old Naked Munros site.
