Again I could say you hit the "wow" factor capturing the desert in that state. Can I assume that it was an open pit mine? Also I don't remember clumps of the suguaro cacti as you have photographed as my recollection was of single cactus spread out in the landscape. Excellent morning read!

Yep, open pit, copper and some other fine metals.

Saguaro clump together three or four, but this is unusual. It is difficult for a young saguaro to survive, even if a few seeds make it in close proximity. I wondered if these were transplanted as a group at sometime.
