Splendid posting of naked cycling on the island.
Have you tried the unmetalled tracks along the cliffs to the south of El Cotillo?
I did some of this last year but didn't get round to it this time.

<snip>
My route then followed the curve of the 'D' on the map. This a curious place, a well surfaced road with non-functional street light standards. It was apparently the start of a now abandoned development authorised by the then mayor, who coincidentally had close connections with the developer.....
For many years these street lights and those on the adjacent unmade road with open unguarded manholes were illuminated at night.
Local gossip has it that the mayor in question is related to Torino of the beach bar and that this was associated with Torino losing the concession for a couple of years while the mayor was in jail.

<snip>
It was still very rough, and I salute you, JOhn, for traversing the whole length in one go!
I did stop for a short time halfway along to respond to a text message from my wife that she had arrived at Lajares and to have a discreet leak.

<snip>
On arrival back at the main road, if there was no one around there was a short downhill swoop obviously best ridden naked, to the start of a track following the straight section of the 'D'. This track was impossible to ride in the dark but traversable in the light. At the end of this it was time to dress in shirt and conventional shorts for the ride home past the houses.
I have also used this section of road when things are quiet enough.
Staying out at Maravilla I was always able to leave and return to the apartment without dressing by using the unmetalled back roads behind the Azzuro restaurant.

I think I will acquire some clip-on lights for my next El Cotillo trip - an obvious idea that I had not thought of.

Neil Barerider:
If we are both there for 2017 why not cycle together the entire length of the North Road to Corralejo meeting our wives off the bus for lunch and returning by bus with our cycles in the boot?

Ah yes Ian,  I see.  I tend to use G/Earth from inside IE or nowadays MS Edge and don't have it installed in an otherwise cluttered PC.  Better find a bit of room for it!

I like the idea of doing the entire north coast ride between El Cotillo and Corralejo. Do the local buses carry bikes?
I have not tried the southern route out of El Cotillo. The first section appears to be a flat, windy and featureless lava strewn plain. Does it improve further on?
Current thinking for next January is for two weeks at Monte/Marina/Playa in Morro Jable followed by a week in El Cotillo. But plans may change

There is certainly plenty of room for bikes in the boot and I am certain I have seen them loaded.
I haven't got much beyond the featureless bit South of El Cotillo but it looks as though it will be more interesting further on.
Our plans are similar to this year and I will let you know when they are fixed.

My computer screen is green with envy!  This year has not been as naturist friendly as was the case previously here in Florida. We are going to attempt a visit to our secluded beach this week. I even thought about a trip to a nudist resort near here just to spend a day walking about their nature trails in peace. Thanks for the video and the enjoyment this morning.

You took me along with you JOhnGw. How fascinating Momma Earth is. I imagined myself floating in the waters, the shift of current, the sun, yup.
Thanks,

Nice video, JOhn

Where we used to go regularly, on the Med coast of Spain between Marbella and Fuengirola, I went snorkelling quite a few times but one was hard put to spot a fish at all! However, Sea urchins were epidemic most years!
