Have you tried the unmetalled tracks along the cliffs to the south of El Cotillo?
I did some of this last year but didn't get round to it this time.

My route then followed the curve of the 'D' on the map. This a curious place, a well surfaced road with non-functional street light standards. It was apparently the start of a now abandoned development authorised by the then mayor, who coincidentally had close connections with the developer.....
For many years these street lights and those on the adjacent unmade road with open unguarded manholes were illuminated at night.
Local gossip has it that the mayor in question is related to Torino of the beach bar and that this was associated with Torino losing the concession for a couple of years while the mayor was in jail.

I did stop for a short time halfway along to respond to a text message from my wife that she had arrived at Lajares and to have a discreet leak.

On arrival back at the main road, if there was no one around there was a short downhill swoop obviously best ridden naked, to the start of a track following the straight section of the 'D'. This track was impossible to ride in the dark but traversable in the light. At the end of this it was time to dress in shirt and conventional shorts for the ride home past the houses.
I have also used this section of road when things are quiet enough.
Staying out at Maravilla I was always able to leave and return to the apartment without dressing by using the unmetalled back roads behind the Azzuro restaurant.
I think I will acquire some clip-on lights for my next El Cotillo trip - an obvious idea that I had not thought of.
