Am I correct in thinking there was a TV show about people who live off the grid and one of the featured stories being your friend? And if memory serves me well the local authorities were trying to force her back onto the grid? Anyway, there is a vague recollection of the yurts and converted school buses plus the location. Add also my gratitude for the excellent reads!

Nope, not her. She is just completing her new house. A house warming is coming up soon. It is much more conventional, with running water, indoor kitchen, indoor plumbing, still solar, etc.
