Congratulations again, Jbeegoode!

For another article in N magazine. It's about stalking the rare crested saguaro, and meeting cyclists. Very nicely done.

Thank-you. I think that I let my membership expire. I haven't seen a copy of it yet! My friends tell me that it looks great. ;D

Is that available online without a subscription?
I couldn’t find it. I checked their website. I would have to order that issue I guess.
Which one was it, JohnP?

Just got the check in the mail, but still no magazine. Guess U need to give a call in the morning after the holidays and get thing straightened out. The check stub has N36.3 on it. I believe that is the issue.

Eyesup, the yearly membership includes four quarterly magazines. Most of it is written and researched by members, something like 30,000. You can get single issues, but they are not inexpensive. I have a collection going back to the mid 1980's when I first joined. I figure with the mags, the cost for two is the same as one and the discounts when I do get to a resort or regional gathering, like De Anza, it is reasonable, and it does go to a good cause, with NAC and NEF promoted in the mix.

It is indeed, issue 36.3.

I didn't initially notice this, because it's separate from the article, but at the front of the magazine there's a section titled "Contributors" with a little paragraph about each of the authors (well, three of them) who wrote pieces for this issue. And there's JBG, with a picture that actually shows his face! Handsome dude, as it turns out.

Consensus in our group is that the Naturist Society isn't being run very well, but in principle we support it. Four of us have written for N magazine, especially Milt Lewis.

Lee Baxandall was a tough act to follow. Mark Story seems to be the active most creative element expanding their strategies. He is a strong FRN advocate.

The people at NAC seem to be doing a great job with the resources that they have. I use their legislative resources frequently during a year.

The NEC has begun that new library. Online materials are starting to happen.

I think that the organization is as strong as the membership's input. It is difficult to lead and stimulate, when so many are just into being their naked selves and initiate little. Still with the base the 80%/20% principle should garner more. I do notice that they have taken the phone numbers off of the contact page.

It is and has been a central coordinating and depository of information and outreach go to. I don't know of any better organization solid enough to carry that.

The major characters are pretty accessible and there is life in the gatherings that inspire. The magazine is nothing like it was in the last century, but I do like the creative new person that lays out the pages.

I don't know what else can be done, considering the state of members. Who are the new blood? Perhaps we need to write an outreach article with ideas. Whenever I have something that would be less usual, and can be condensed to 1600 words, I send it in. I have to hold back on publishing on my website, until they get complete use of it, but it does give me a bit of advertising and contribute the idea of FRN to 30,000 people who live with a more restricted nudity. I had one rejected on the sweat community. They figured that it wasn't a going thing to do anymore, and wanted something still going on. I just wanted to describe the possibilities, by showing what it had been, to promote sauna gatherings.

I have a couple of ideas for them up my sleeve for the future. I have to make them happen.

I still don't know which picture that they placed there of me, but nice to hear that it doesn't have the effect of my drivers license photo. I'll have to thank the editor for producing a miracle.

How many times have you had articles in the magazine?
Are they like the ones you have on your website?

I think that this is the third time. These articles are less than 1600 words and they have just a couple of images. The text is often laid out on top of the pictures.

The same content eventually gets to my website, but maybe with more text, but certainly more pics. Magazine format with an editor is very different than my own blog.

Who Dat!? Who, who? Whaddat?

Since I don’t get the mag, I haven’t seen the picture, though I have seen the real deal.
I guess I could order it.
And then say . . . Who Dat? ;D
