They have camping there.
It isn't butted up against the freeway. It is far enough away to cut the traffic noise. All of the trees help that, too. We came over a ridge and there were the tract houses that we had been warned about, sitting below. Before that sight, it felt very natural. The other ridge was covered in vegetation.
Our only concern was bumping into kids from the tract houses in the undetermined distance. Heading back, we knew that we were safe. Exploring at first we were hesitant and cautious, carrying clothing, ready for stealth tactics.
You can't really see the Interstate from there unless you try to. It is a cozy little neighborhood and in a well chosen microclimate. I suppose that it is more a situation of having conveniently located access to the freeway.
Actually, I didn't describe the interaction well when I wrote this a few years back. She actually said something to me about how brazen (not a quote) that I was, being naked at the front desk of a nudist resort. She stared like she was surprised to see a naked man, which was kinda goofy to me. Like she had wandered on to the property and an old friend of her's was working the desk. It was like "How is it that you are not self-conscious standing there naked like that?"
