If that's the best anyone can come up with against naked gardening.  The arguments against it wouldn't hold up in court when balanced against the benefits.

I would have guessed that a gardener of any stripe would have been happy that anyone of any stripe would be enthusiastic that the gardening community was being expanded. She also seems to be laying down personal rules and expectations on involvement or behavior.

Gardening has it's joys and it's trials,  it's rewards and it's disappointments.  But overall when good healthy food is the result it's worth it all.  And I also think that a real garden promoter would be happy for any gardening involvement however it's done,  dressed to the hilt,  nude,  or anything between.  I have extensive plans in mind for my gardening efforts.  Eventually eating from a greenhouse,  living in it.  A jacuzzi in the midst of tropical fruit and nutting foliage.    I'm sure the writer has anti nude elements in her own life,  and when she ran into the idea of naked gardening her first response was all the reasons why it wouldn't work,  even to the point of inventing a few that aren't even reasons.

She misses that it is all about awareness in nature. Gloves, hard soles, tools, or a knee pad of sorts are not cheating. Such a shmuck.

My SIL is a writer* by trade.  They give her a topic they want a story.  She reads a couple of on-line pages and writes 1,000 words, or 10,000 words, or whatever they asked for.   She usually knows very little about and has no actual experience doing whatever she writes about.  We can assume that this topic article came from someone with an equivalent job.  Some publisher asked for an article on naked gardening.  The writer cranked it out.  Not the best source for actual information about anything.

*Its a good job.  She can work anywhere she likes, the airport lounge, the back table at Starbucks, Florida or Maine.  It pays fairly well most of the time but she doesn't get rich.

So getting paid by the word, for turning out copy based on superficial research done on randomly assigned tasks, seems to be a pretty good gig.

A friend's son does something like that, for a local publication. He is enjoying it, part time I think. He'll take some photos and write about some happening, or place.

 It is fun to see something I wrote in a printed magazine, instead of seeing somebody else do it. There are now services that write for professionals for the professional's website, to keep people coming back to the site.

I've been enjoying writing the last few years, even made a couple of hundred bucks. I've got another 30 or so to enjoy. Perhaps launching a new career as a part time writer of some kind in the new media/communications that are springing up. What would I do, how would I do it, if I was twenty and just starting out? Hmmm...maybe...maybe not...hmmm...oops, topic drift!
