In my younger days we never had access to any "nudist" magazines as such but mens magazines with pictures of women either showing breasts or buttocks and a lot left to the imagination. A few of our fathers kept them in the garage or barn where we found them. But the novelty wore off quickly as we discovered it was often the same woman over and over again.
As for the "Woodstock" generation, there was a group of us in college that frequented a place along the river known as "Bare Ass Beach". Most of us were friends both male and female but occasionally a couple would sneak off for other activities. But remember, skinny dipping was a way of life in my neighborhood, this just seemed like the natural extension.
