New Trip Report at the website.  A 4x4 excursion in an extremely thin canyon and exploration of the desert up near Florence and the Superstition Mountains.

Keen place!
The terrain looks quite taxing for your 4x4, JBee.  What would happen if you broke an axle or something and couldn't get the car out.  Is there cellphone signal?
Would you just have to walk out and if so is there anyone to help when you do get out?  Or is there, as sideways indicated, a reasonable daily traffic of visitors to the area?

People from sprawling Phoenix are all over this place. There are enough, if you mess up. It is always better to be with another in remote areas for those reasons. breaking, rolling, stuck, flats in odd places, getting lost, etc. That is one reason that we wanted to get out of there before dark.

More great exploring! Looks familiar.
You could be in many canyons I’ve been in around here.
