We'll have to wait for it to get hot in the later Spring and some more rains. It is over 9000 ft. up there and about 30 degrees colder. Right now, there is snow up there and it will be probably frozen all week.
We got a significant rain last night! First one since July when the monsoon abruptly quit. There is snow on the mountains, but we are sitting in highs in the 50F's this week. One week it was summer and within a few days winter has arrived.
Yea, I've hankered to get to the top of those hills for decades, but never have. Since I'm getting younger and fit enough, it is going to happen. The thing is, it is better to plan it when it is high 90F's or more in the valley. The water will depend on the rains in the spring, pr snow melt. After monsoon hits, the last several years, it has rained for months, until it gets too cold. Considering torrential rain and lightning, I don't want to hike that higher ground filled with lightning rods. There should be opportunities though. I want to better explore Lemmon Pools, too. Same considerations. For now, My nude hike will be in the desert when it is warm. I have explored the Tucson Mountains very little. They are lower elevation, more like the Tortolitas. That will probably be this winters and spring playgrounds. Also, I hope to get DF down into Oaxaca...but we'll see how that pans out.
