Yea, these seem like very avid hikers.

I gotta respect those who do barefoot all over.

I've finally got around to finishing up the trip report on the Naked European Walking Tour! This gets us out of the mountains, and then there'll be one more writeup on our few days in Germany before coming home.

On our second to last morning, the backpackers are arranging their food supply as the  main group gathers.

We drove to a gondola lift, where we were able to get clothing-optional transport.

At the top of the  slope, a welcoming committee met us.

We hadn't got far before there was a pause for mushroom gathering. Miriam and Ralph compared European and American expertise.

Chantal was the real expert; as for my contribution, let's just say that it was helpful that I understand the French for "Throw that away! And wash your hands!"

An encounter with textile hikers, and two others who made no objection at all to nudity. (They're apparently a local Adam and Eve, ancestors of the entire district, but with more clothes than the originals.)

Then a British hiker came by, and was greatly entertained by our group.

A short distance on, the ultimate test of tolerance—meeting a group of children. There was some nervous giggling from the kids.

Then we climbed to the peak.

Where (of course) there is a cross.

Here too we met textile visitors, with children. They weren't perturbed at all.

This peak is popular with hang-glider enthusiasts, and we watched several of them take off.

We shared the viewpoint with the textile family.

And a few yards away, it was an all nude group.

This was our lunch stop, but it was a hot day and no shade was to be found.

A rest was an appealing idea.

Then we walked on.

Finally a little shade among some trees.

Then we emerged from the trees and there was some uncertainty about where to go next.

As with our walk in Wales, a three-person navigational conference was required.

This left time for conversation. Here the French outnumber the English 3 to 1.

The map is being more thoroughly discussed.

And then even more thoroughly.

Time for portrait photography, with very enticing subjects.

Lim liked to say “I'm Asian, so I have to have lots of pictures of myself.”

Eventually a decision was reached, and we walked on.

It must have been the right path, because we returned to the house without difficulty.

That evening there was a rain shower, and Lim could get his picture taken with a rainbow.

Natfree writes up the description for our final day of walking.

We started up a dirt road, still wearing clothes.

The path became steep as it climbed a valley above a stream.

Our objective was a waterfall, where we planned to have lunch.

Some of us would have climbed under the water, but it would have been too dangerous. We got as close as we could.

This spot didn't offer any comfortable place to sit.

Though some people are very good at taking comfort where they find it.

After lunch, we resumed climbing, now in cool shade.

There was something interesting by the path, but I forget what.

After we left the trees, we encountered an area where the stream made pools among rocks, and we wished we had delayed lunch until we got there.

Jean-Paul was the first into the water.

Dan had to take second place this time!

Everyone enjoyed this place!

Some textile hikers came by, and we offered to share, but they wouldn't stay.

Finally it was time to begin the descent.

We followed a dirt road for a while.

Then we followed a path through woods, gently going downward.

It went through an attractive pine forest.

Eventually it was time for clothes again, as we approached the parking lot.

Evening was cloudy.

We tried to be cheerful, but there was a sad mood on this last evening.

Next morning, left-over supplies were brought outside.

People started putting clothes on, and loading luggage into cars.

The point came where hardly anyone still looked like a naturist.

And so we headed down to the station, to get the train to Munich. And that'll be another episode.

Ya know, Our more prolific contributors are out of town on vacation. I'm also out backpacking last week and another three days this week here, during our birthday season. It will be kinda slow, as will responses. Eyesup in Northern Arizona, Nuduke across Canada. Who else?

BUT, Fun John P.

Why is it that those places in the distance always look like they are overrun by golf course fairways?
Maybe that fun should be on my bucket list. Such a large group out free range. It looks more like a movement that an nakation group.

Looking forward to more.

Yeah, John, those are the type of pictures I was remembering. Thanks for putting that together.

A group headed out for a hike and running into all the sort things you would normally see, yet being naked is seen, for the most part, as normal.

Eyesup in Northern Arizona . .
Well we were camping for 5 nights out of 8. Three were in Chaco Canyon and two on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Gone for 8 days in northwest New Mexico and Northern Arizona and hardly a second available for naked hiking.

Jbee, a chip shot out of one of those valleys could put you miles away looking for a drop spot. :)

That looks like such fun, JohnP
Was this latest set of pictures the same hike as back in late summer/autumn last year?  Or is it a new adventure?
