My underwear last five to ten years.
I have socks that are twenty and thirty years old.
I have new and used shirts. I keep the ones that I really want, that have lasting fashion durability. I cold water, gentle wash my clothing if possible and hang it up out of UV and out of my dryer, so they don't wear out as soon. Things last two or three times longer if they are not placed in a dryer.
If I wear something for a coupe of hours and then take it off, I wear it again and again and sometimes again. I smell clothing first. I set it aside and rotate use with other clothing. People might assume that it has been washed, but it doesn't wear out. I have lots of clothing options, so things don't get worn as often. If I have to wear something, then I want to enjoy it as best that I can.
More than anything, I am nude. I drop my clothing as I walk in the door, putting it on is about the last thing before leaving. That is if I have to wear clothes out. Sitting in clothing for long periods like cross country driving wears them out, an dwe all know how uncomfortable and impractical they can be.
