I read it to DF. She groaned, but with a smirk. It is very clever...I thought that it was such a bad joke that I felt compelled to share it with her. Go figure?!? We enjoyed ourselves.

I got caught by the worst pun in centuries the other day.  I was discussing theatrical sound effects with a friend who is an audio enthusiast.  He was preparing the sound effects for a play where the sound of a summer's day with bees buzzing was required and he remarked, seamlessly, in the flow of conversation, that somewhere he had an old vinyl single record with bee and wasp sounds on.  Falling unwittingly into the trap I enquired how he knew which sound was bees.  "The bees are on the B side of course!" he riposted.  Dooohhhh!  This was a real conversation, guys!

Years ago, during the Bud Light BEER campaign, I sat at a bar with my biz partner. We had just finished a job for the establishment and relaxing, keeping a friendly relationship with our customer, the owner on the other side of the counter.

There was a light fixture above, a very heavy upside down planter looking contraption with several bulbs. Suddenly, it just came loudly crashing down, landing on the bar like dinner being served. It was thunderous and had I been leaning forward or leaning on my arms, I'd have been in the hospital. We sat in silence, stunned by the quirk of life...my partner, spoke,..."I said BUD LIGHT!!!"

Sometimes, these things just happen....

My MIL bought a t-shirt for me once that said:
“At maturity a pun is fully groan”, I seem to have misplaced it.

I was reading an article by Isaac Azimov, a punster of note, where he presented what he called a triple pun.
When two boys inherited their father’s ranch, they renamed it “Focus Ranch”.

What did they do on the ranch? Raise meat. So the sons raise meat.
What do you call where the sun’s rays meet? The focal point.
When can you see what is at the focal point? When it’s in focus.
Focus Ranch is where the son’s raise meat.
