Nasty nasty windchill factors! A micro-climate can be made from one side of a boulder, direction of the wind and where the sun is at which point in the day and season. Redington Pass can be extremely different depending on your proximity you sit to a big rock, from comfortable in the sun to a sense of dangerously fridged.

This certainly plays different in the summer's heat. Wind cools to relief, but also sometimes, it is a hot wind, like an oven.

I think that this is the last chapter of the Secret Naturist Handbook. The "THE END" of Lookee's book and our contributions and comments!

Windy Weather: From "The Secret Naturist Handbook"

When looking at the weather forecast many people will only pay attention to how hot or cold is it or if its going to be wet or dry. Rarely do they pay any attention to the wind but the secret naturist needs to be much more aware of how the wind will effect their plans for a secret naturist outing.

The obvious effect the wind has is its cooling effect, known as windchill, and this can greatly influence when the secret naturist can go outdoors and for how long. Of course, the obvious answer is to keep out of the wind and there are a few good hints & tips on how to achieve this.

On days when the winds makes it too cold for comfort, look for sheltered areas such as woodland, particularly dense conifer plantations which act as effect windbreaks. If you can find an area facing south, that is out of the wind and in full sunshine, being naked even on cold winter days can be quite comfortable. Outings where you are climbing hills can also be a problem as you are exposed to the full effect of the wind. In this instance try and climb the lee or sheltered side of the hill but do bare in mind that it will still be cold on the summit.

Many secret naturist make use of fog and early morning mist as cover for outings at locations that would otherwise be too exposed to view. At times such as this a knowledge of when the wind will blow the mist away can be important. You do not want to be caught out in full view when the mist suddenly vanishes! Check the weather forecast!

The noise of the wind as it blows through trees and even as it blows past your own head and ears, can greatly reduce your ability to detect warning sounds that might indicate another presence in the area. In conditions like this stay extra vigilant to compensate. Conversely the noise produced by the wind can also be used to your benefit as you move through noisy terrain. In a strong wind practice turning your head to different direction and see what difference it makes to how much you can hear.

Wind direction can also be used to the secret naturists benefit. It can tell you the direction that forecast rain will come from, sounds travelling from downwind will seem closer than they really are and the opposite is also true. Sounds may seem further away than they actually are when the wind is blowing away from you.

In summer, the wind can also dehydrate the naked body far quicker than when fully clothed and again, by seeking shelter, this effect can be reduced. It's also worth remembering to drink plenty of liquids as well before and during any outdoor activity. Of course, this cooling effect is useful in hot weather!

During the midge season, from May to September, a good strong wind is just what you need to keep the pesky blighters at bay. The same applies to flies as well, and some people will also stay indoors when the wind is too strong. All good reasons to be naked in the wind.

I double checked and this was the last segment of "The Secret Naturist Handbook." We're done except to comment on Lookee's ultimate contribution.

The only other piece that I have of the old website is a post by "Jane" as she goes about her first secret walk alone in freerange naturism.

So thank-you Lookee. This thread has been running since August of 2019.

I'd like to read Jane's post, please, Jbee.  Will you post it here?
I'm interested as to why you kept that particular post on TSNS amongst the many thousands of others and the hundreds of good (probably better?) ones?

It was eloquently written by a female. It is of someone's first secretive naturist experience. It feels authentic.

We're doing a road trip back east to DF's mom's 100th birthday, this season. I'll have to be sure that my site has a booking of a few weeks worth of material in advance. I'm holding back on it until I know what I need during that time and it could be handy.  It's one of those things "I wish I'd written that" from a defunct website with no copyright, with credit given to an anonymous person.
