Mooning and flashing have had a varied and useful history!
I came across this unfamiliar word while looking into ways to conflict the censorship of mere nudity on the internet. If nudity is tossed into the realms of porn by the corporate powers that bought the internet, it is a teaching and reinforcement of the ideas that the sight of our bodies is improper, immodest, indecent, or even evil and dangerous
One thing lead to another and I discovered anasyrma.
I looked it up. Here's Wikipedia for starters:
Many historical references suggest that anasyrma had dramatic or supernatural effect...
..I wrote this on Word and it isn't allowed to transfer over here. I tried pasting the text of the article directly, and this site isn't allowing me to. Try looking up wikipedias posting about Anasyrma, th esection called "Apotropaic Effect of Nakedness."
It's interesting.
So, there is power perceived in nakedness.
I think back to Mel Gibson, ...This is still not allowing me to post, unless write directly to t esite!?!?...
...I think back I think back to Mel Gibson, "Braveheart," it is disarming , disconcerting to someone trying to be serious to drop the dress up that symbolizes and legitimates a socio-cultural game. In that case war. It can make a joke out of someone's serious imposition. I'm sure that that has been a driving force in the repression of nudity, as it is taken as an afront to the status quo and its controls, from hippies dancing naked, to irreverant kids sticking their butts out of car windows as they pass. It is defiant against repression. It undermines authority and is free expression. It is liberating.
In this state statute law, it is legal to use nudity in protest, but not in protest of the anti-nudity statutes.
