Improving trails is great exercise and makes further future options.
The government rarely takes care of trails out here in the west, especially those less traveled. We take clippers more often, now, for overgrowth. Some have been so unkempt that it would be easy to get lost.
A friend of mine makes trails just because they are secretive and good for free range activities.
