Back from the mountains, I figured that I'd start from the beginning at the Festival on my website. He's the lowdown on a wonderful fun time.

Interesting festival. I wanted to attend but the effort to travel gets harder every year. Glad you could go and have provided us with your experience.
Just a thought: Instead of simply opposing legislation aimed at preventing deliberate sexual activity aimed at children, perhaps nudist organizations ought to be working with the Legislatures to draft legislation that would accomplish their goals without also prohibiting non-sexual nude freedom. Most conservative politicians want more freedom, not more government. Perhaps getting on their side would result in legislation authorizing non-sexual public nudity. Seems like Nudist organizations ought to be trying to get involved in a proactive manner.
All politicians are concerned with making waves, campaign funds and resulting votes. A majority to come forward and do the right thing would seem counter intuitive.
It could risk, backlash waves, funding and then the votes.
Conservative climate has gotten more goofy. Moral thinking gets votes for anti-abortion rhetoric. Those same people may not respond in favor of body freedom, something that they perceive as sexy. Even though the polls tell us that most Americans are okay with many of our goals, that conservative base is holding onto backward views.
Also, "what about the kids" is still out there and there is a frequent knee jerk reaction from that.
It is difficult and very expensive to solicit, or lobby the government. Very time consuming, lots of effort. Although many conservative states have no anti-nudity laws because of that reason you give, they they can "not do anything" and then not rock the boat.
I was told that to take action proactively and "risk the voters kids" would be perceived as a big problem for them, right or left ends of the spectrum.
I'm thinking that politicians are more interested in advantage during their next election, not doing the right thing. They are dependent on making money for big money and the conservative election machines that get out the vote during primaries.
I think that informing the people's opinions is the winnable battle right now. The politicians would follow suit to get re-elected.
