Introduction
« on: July 09, 2023, 07:03:05 PM »
Hi I'm GPHillbilly, I'm in my 20s and from the Pacific Northwest.  My first interest in naturism came when I went on a hike at 7 with my cousins and we mooned the town from atop a mountain.  I learned then that I really enjoy being naked rather than clothed, especially outdoors.  My first 100% true naturist experience happened when I was 22 and hiked up a stream and found a nice place to sunbathe nude.  Ever since, I've been itching every moment I'm clothed to be nude in nature.  Never been caught, not looking forward to it, I'm a very shy and self conscious person, not about my body image, I just don't want to be seen as weird.  Where I live there's a good chance if I were to be seen I'd be ridiculed as "gay".  I've gotten to the point where if I'm on a hike I will try to get naked at least once, and if I'm going swimming in a natural body of water I'll do it nude unless there are others around.  My wife is supportive of it and is open to trying it with me but she does have body image issues.

I think forums are coming back, and Reddit is horrible for naturism.  You'll see someone post and go to their profile and the rest of their posts are on porn subreddits and they'll have their onlyfans pinned to their page.  It's really a drag.  I can separate nudity from sexuality but if they're taking the photos to be titillating I just can't take them seriously as naturists.

Welcome to both the wonderful world of naturism and this friendly forum. I'm in the UK and a member of a naturist walking group
Most encounters are friendly and positive.

I hope you enjoy your time here.

Hi GPHillbilly!  Welcome to the forum.
This is great - all in a few days - 2 new members and a much respected returner (that's you, Eyesup!)!

I hope you are right GPHillbilly (mind if I use GPH?) that forums are making a renewed comeback?  I am 70 and I first plugged into the internet in the era well before facebook, twitter, instagram and all, when forums were the social media and considered very cool!  But my younger friends and associates scorn them nowadays. A few years ago (2016) I was involved in development of a website for a professional group that I am a member of and one of the things that I specified was to have a forum within the website so members could carry on running conversations and promote connectedness amongst the round about 1000 members who are mostly working professionals aged 20s to 50s.  Did they use it?  They did not.  It was a barren desert of non-discussion.  Yet I believe forums are, in the sort of format we have here, an excellent mode of communication for a reasonably sized group in my view.

Anyway, long may we flourish here!
John

Tell us more.

Body image issues melt away when your peers are nudist accepting you and it is fun. That is one good thing about naturist/nudists resorts, they are chock full of people who formally had body issues.

Welcome aboard,

Hello GP.   I'm an old naturist who's been hiking naked for half a century.  The Pacific Northwest is a big place.  I'm near Spokane.   What part are you from.  Fortunately WA and OR don't have strict anti-nude laws.

Sadly, many wives are like that.  Supportive, but conformity issues.

I frequent Reddit for subs called "Make Nudity Legal" and "Washington State Nudism."    Neither of those allow sexual content.

It isn't that nudism is sexual, it's that humans are very sexual.  You can't take the sexuality out of humans.  We are a very sexual species.  Nudism needs to come to terms with human sexuality.  Pretending that nudists are asexual is kind of silly.

Welcome to this forum.   Sexual content isn't allowed here either.
