World Naked Gardening Day 2024
« on: May 03, 2024, 01:10:01 AM »
It's this Saturday. Get naked and dig in!

On TheFreeRangeNaturist.org, I go on about being natural and naked in the garden and building an Eden. Health and microbiome is in there, too. Here is:

Wow!  What an achievement - garden and larder all in one!  Well done Jbee.  I know that all gardens, decorative or nutritional are the product of hard, back breaking work and patient tending.  Where did the big cacti (saguaros?) come from?  Did you buy them or transplant from the desert?  Or were they just there when you moved in?
Where is the sweat?  17th picture down the blog there is a grey brick structure in the top left of the picture.  Is that it?

This afternoon and evening (Friday 3rd May) has been continuous cold rain in our area.  Tomorrow will be cloudy with perhaps sunny intervals but only 15-16 deg C (55-60degF) and it will be damp and cold on the ground from todays rain.  However, we had a sudden burst of sunshine Yesterday, Thursday so I got out and mowed the lawn naked - literally made hay while the sun shone! - and did some watering of my pots and whatnot.  So I've sort of done world naked gardening day already!!  Sunday weather similar with showers late afternoon and evening,  Heigh ho.

Having said all that, British weather being what it is, despite the forecasts, it turned out to be a fairly sunny, if breezy day today so I just did a bit of nude sunbathing in the garden!

Here is info on my saguaros:

https://thefreerangenaturist.org/2022/05/06/world-naked-gardening-day-2022/

I got two from a friend with too many that were over crowding. I moved and transplanted Larenzo and Barb the larger ones, in a precarious set of maneuvers, naked, spines between my legs, a couple of years ago. One still small one (Spike) came from Tortolita, a volunteer  who got stuck under some chicken wire and had to be moved with me. There was a tiny one next to my eucalyptus tree. I moved it.

Yes, that's the door to the sweat, the block building.

There will someday be an article about constructing and running the sweat with pics.

JBee, this is an awesome description of our connection to Gaia. I agree with everything you said. It is inspiring.

You did not touch on one aspect that I believe is core to our relationship with ourselves and the world around us. That is energy. We are biological beings, but at the core of that biology is energy. If one approaches a task with bitterness, that bitterness will become part of the result. The opposite is true. That is one of the secrets to Grandma's stew and JBee's garden.

Why do I put so much effort into the things i value? The answer is easy. Energy repays itself. Often not in obvious ways, but the return is there.

Okay, I confess that I do have an energetic relationship with the whole of the yard. I stand nude hands out blessing it all and feel it blessing me in return, most days for a little while, a sharing. Ida, the big eucalyptus is exceptional. I have a spot where I sit under it. It just feels right, "The Spot." many visitors comment on the tree. Even my next door neighbor, a tough looking cholo kinda guy, just reached out and hugged it one day. There is definitely something there with being with the plants. Barefoot grounded on the living earth on Earth, happy plants, disturbed plants, delighted plants after a rain, standing with them in the sun. Yup, bio-energetic, trans-personal energy, oneness, our molecular selves. It is a very real appealing apparent feeling and sense.

The reverence has an affect, even as it sets the stage for a more gentle conscientious care of the plants. I explain what I am about to take and why, I thank them. I say I'm sorry, sincerely to the most insignificant weed as it is pulled. There is connection, imagined or not. There is frequency as a vibratory communication in the biology of the soil on up the food chain, balanced and optimal.
