So spring has sprung in a big way and with afternoon temperatures hitting the mid 20 degrees celcius with clear blue skies. I took the opportunity of an afternoon to myself to take a short wander.
Not very far and only for about 30 minutes, but it was as exhilarating as it always has been.
After walking to the edge of our land(it's just over an acre and a half) I hopped over the fence and crossed a large grass field. Still damp underfoot in places, but the grass is still short from the last time it was grazed.
From there there is a small woodland, that felt cool and shaded from the surprisingly warm sunshine.
Very damp on the ground but at this time of year, it's not too overgrown.
After crossing the woods I picked up a dirt track that took me back home. Not much risk of seeing anyone, although we do get the odd dirtbike, cyclist or walkers on there.
Fortunately I saw no one today and completely a lovely first walk of the year.. completely naked from start to finish.
I love this time of year.
