World Naked Gardening Day 2022
« on: May 06, 2022, 08:18:37 AM »
I've got this blank canvas of a yard in urban Tucson. It has to be planted. Been a busy time.

Here, is an unusual gardening for the rest of the world...Naked saguaro cactus planting, a perilous adventure.

That looks like an enjoyable afternoon.  The first Saturday in May here is predicted o be cold, rainy, and high winds.  Not a good day for gardening.   I did get out to mow the lawn naked on Tuesday this week.

Hey Jbee!  That garden/backyard is one hell of a project! May I wish you much joy with creating it and not too many stiff backs!!!
It's going to take a few years to properly, literally, bear fruit I guess.  Looking forward to that blog!
As to World Naked Gardening Day, I jumped the gun, bit the bullet, carpe'd my diem and got ahead of the crowd.  We had a very nice sunny morning (Friday 6th) and I was up early to do an errand and then, once back home, I took the opportunity to mow the lawn naked as a pre-WNGD naked gardening session.  In the UK the weather is so variable, who knows if the opportunity will arise again tomorrow - it is already raining this evening.  So I literally made hay whilst the sun shone.
We may go out to a lakeside beauty spot tomorrow but if not I've got a few more chores to do in the open air which I will be able to fulfil, celebrate and join in WNGD on the actual day.

Looking at the fence around your property, you are fortunate (although I am sure you bought the property knowing that :) ) in having no high properties overlooking. It means you can be freely naked in the garden.  Great stuff!

Yes, zoning and established properties surround it. It isn't in an area that is up an coming, so not likely to build up.

A tree house swing thing would be a problem, but three sides are covered. One has no room for it, one is a mother/daughter that aren't going anywhere, or changing, one has my house blocking. The front in a sort of boulevard, of two one way single lanes with a wide wash in-between so there is distance. In a couple of years, that south side will be covered with a noise reducing wall of oleander. It is already planted and the canopy is spreading over the 6' plus fence. It will become a wall of flowers 12 ft. tall, so no worries there.
