« on: August 04, 2017, 10:18:03 AM »

Ran up to the White Mountains last week. The first day was rain. This is a carnuding story for the most part.

I’ve been rained on before while camping, but is was usually a light rain. The only time I ever was in a heavy downpour was on a Scout family campout. We were at about 9000 ft. It was too chilly for any nude activities even if I hadn’t been on a Scout trip.

Seeing that wolf was amazing. Never seen one in the wild.

That was like a British camping weekend!  Torrentially wet!
Nice contrast to some of your desert reports, JBee and DF.

Could I just take exception to one remark you made:
Quote
I put on a Beatles collection. As they and an obscure British variety show host sing “Moonlight Bay,”
.  That obscure British variety host was in fact a sketch from The Morecambe & Wise show.  Morecambe and wise for 50 years were huge stars in the UK.  Your description would be like saying Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Burns & Allen, Rowan and Martin or Jerry Seinfeld were obscure.  True it is that Morecambe and Wise never made it big in the USA (I think by choice) but they were the biggest audience draw on TV for decades and their shows run endlessly in repeats.
Much loved, much missed.  In those days the Beatles were guests on their show.  That's how big they were. :D

We were sailing along.....tiddley dee, tiddley doo...on Moonlight bay....tiddley hmmm, hmm. hmmm, hmmm.....
