I read both Miller Creek postings with both excitement and jealousy.  Not only the scenery but the casual attitude you presented when not only meeting textiles but DF's co-worker. I wonder, will she question DF on how it felt to hike naked? Or if she'd ever consider joining you?

Another question, how much more of a hike to the camp? Would you consider an over night stay?  Being currently under doctors care plus being winter here I sure enjoy living vicariously through you!

Off of the top of my head, I seem to remember it as about ten miles up to Manning camp.

Our friend had gone up Turkey Creek, which often has water about half way at a spring. They stayed there a night and came down. I'd like to stay two nights, so there would be a full day of exploration of the top of the Rincons. There are several trails up there. There are lots of vistas 360 degrees.

I used to go up from Speedway Blvd, on full moon nights, part way. It would be more busy to access it that way going up the west slope, but now that I know that there is water....

Doctor care! Get well, and tell us about Florida, okay?

They have talked about it. DF visited with her and their other hiking friend the Wednesday after that weekend. Apparently they were not asking many questions at that time. I had to ask her for permission to publish her face to be polite. Our conversation was more about places to hike. I turned her on to the website, so she could get ideas about new places. DF hadn't promoted it to her.She hikes a lot. The two have been a good source of info.

Sounds like it could be a plan for the future. I can't wait for a write up and pictures of a two day stay. As for Florida it's on the back shelf for now until I get a clearance from my cardiologist to begin to exercise again.  Age is catching up with many of us as many of my Canadian friends are not making the trip because of medical issues. For the Canadians they can't leave the country if they are being treated for a medical problem. Let's hope the new year brings a bit of good health.

We'll have to wait for it to get hot in the later Spring and some more rains. It is over 9000 ft. up there and about 30 degrees colder. Right now, there is snow up there and it will be probably frozen all week.

We got a significant rain last night! First one since July when the monsoon abruptly quit. There is snow on the mountains, but we are sitting in highs in the 50F's this week. One week it was summer and within a few days winter has arrived.

Yea, I've hankered to get to the top of those hills for decades, but never have. Since I'm getting younger and fit enough, it is going to happen. The thing is, it is better to plan it when it is high 90F's or more in the valley. The water will depend on the rains in the spring, pr snow melt. After monsoon hits, the last several years, it has rained for months, until it gets too cold. Considering torrential rain and lightning, I don't want to hike that higher ground filled with lightning rods. There should be opportunities though. I want to better explore Lemmon Pools, too. Same considerations. For now, My nude hike will be in the desert when it is warm. I have explored the Tucson Mountains very little. They are lower elevation, more like the Tortolitas. That will probably be this winters and spring playgrounds. Also, I hope to get DF down into Oaxaca...but we'll see how that pans out.
