Pamphlets
« on: December 22, 2017, 08:21:19 PM »
The old art of handing out political pamphlets can be a great way of informing. Back in the day, newspapers weren't much more than these and they brought about a revolution. The process was even protected in the Constitution, nearly sacred.

I woke up this morning out of sleep, inspired. We had gone to Halloween in body stockings and felt fig leaves. At one point, we considered attaching silly looking faked genitalia and nipples to our stockings to be sort of completely naked. But, what if we wore the stockings with black censor bars across the genitals to get attention and handed out pamphlets?...

...I don't know, I just woke up to this, but maybe, in my spare time, it might be fun to do. The costume is fun to joke around in and creates the good vibe when placing these handouts in people's hands. Seeds planted.

So, I sat down to my morning smoothie and came up with this. It fits on a word page, now, perfectly. It may look boring and less attention grabbing, but naked stuff alone, does grab people's attention.

So, once again, I'm asking for your collective and knowledgeable creative input. I've thought to bold particular words, but it sometimes looks sloppy. Do you think that the content is good, in good order, any forgotten issues, typos, legible, concise, or any which way that you might suggest to specifically improve it.

The reader is to be persuaded that nudity is beneficial, harmless, natural and feels good. Most people are ignorant of most this content. I might start around the university. Would I hand out small flyers for my blog with these?

I have a friend that is a political clown. He is effective with his delivery of protest, or in the least, people laugh and have a good laugh. Naked bike ride is full of paint and costume and festivity, but it is very effective in its message.

Better Off Naked
Bare skin breathes, which is better for health. Pores breathe, bodily senses are free to react and regulate, giving natural health. The body works as a complex complete unit when unrestricted. Bacteria are not trapped and yeast growth is inhibited. UTI’s and fungus disappear.

A full half of an hour completely nude in sunlight optimizes the body’s function to manufacture Vitamin D. There is an amazingly epidemic lack of Vitamin D amongst us. Vitamin D is key to the immune system.

Less waste and have more money. Clothing and fashion is obsessive in our culture and it is expensive. Save time doing laundry, save water and electricity. Save landfills.

Hands down the research tells us that nudity around children is in no way harmful, unless presented as so. It even suggests that it can be a benefit for children’s emotional development. Naked is natural.

A naked body likes 85 degree temperatures. Can you imagine the savings at that thermostat setting during the summer? How much have I saved, while in comfort, in ten years? The nude body adapts better to cooler temperatures than the clothed one. It feels very good. It feels real. You’ll know when it is robe time.

Going barefoot as often as possible, stimulates smaller muscles in the feet, ankles, legs and hips that are responsible for posture, balance and co-ordination. It can dramatically improve back alignment. The sole’s sensation entices your brain into growing extra efficient neuron connections.

Being nude relaxes your whole system. Going naked can improve blood flow and enhance your mood.
Going without clothing improves fertility.

40% of our oxygen intake is through our skin!

Naked improves sleep. It feels liberating. Skin on skin contact produces “happiness” chemicals.

Social nudity reduces stress, adds to full-body integration, and creates a wholesome attitude about the opposite gender. Nude beaches and nudist resorts create a more equal and less sexual environment.

Ashamed of your body? Get naked around others at a naturist resort. You will see that others are not perfect, be accepted and you will either accept yourself, or do something to improve your health.

Next time, just take that swimsuit off in the pool and you will begin to fully understand.

Nudist have less skin cancer. The body reacts quickly and naturally. Nudists are more careful and more aware. Burns happen along tanlines.

We hide in cocoons, when we could feel as free as butterflies.

On a nice day, when I'm feeling particularly zealous...why not?

Nice one.
I'd change a few things for the UK environment but I assume that my changes would be unsuitable for your side of the puddle.

I’d add a website address or two - what’s a message without a website, this is the 21st century! - and some kind of attribution. “This message is brought to you by ...” I’m immediately suspicious of anonymous anything, it smells of rip-off. And if someone is too shy to put some kind of identifier to a campaign they must be trying to hide something. Fake news? Russians? 😶

Good thought there. I had thought to put my blog on there, but....
I thought to put TNS on there, but it is very limited and I would assume that anyone looking it up would be looking for more information.
I thought to put several on, by incorporating all of that space on the back of the page.
This needs more thought. My thinking is that people would read this, seed planted and they would find their own way to express their naturism. At this moment, I spouse that some need to be lead to the water. a cup provided and placed in front of their face.
Perhaps a bibliography? Especially if I distribute among university, budding intellectuals and their over kill intellectual handling of the obvious. More to think about.

Now then...The Russians trying to get people naked! What motive? Oh, JohnBirchSociety, The Russians are behind everything that might change the moral landscape of America, destroy the family and watch America collapse...I forgot.
Yes, we are out to destroy the very "fabric" of society....   ;D

We have found a very efficient way to convince some people about naturism. We get naked. In our home 24/7 we all are naked! When we answer the door, when people come in to visit, when family are here, we are naked. All the neighbourhood know about "The nude family @ number 88", we rarely get any bad or stupid comments.
When we leave our home of course we put clothes on, but how many depends on the weather. As long as genitalia are covered we're fine. Last summer our niece (46 years young) wore a bikini top & tiny shorts , I wore just shorts and we went to a local park to wait for her son. As the sun came out better Lisa took off her bikini top and we just stood  there waiting. Most folk who passed by us said nothing, one female who was maybe 10 years younger than Lisa said, "You both look so cool, if I could be so nude in a park I certainly would" Out of maybe 30 people passing we just 1 negative comment. We had one elderly couple smile and say " You are that lovely nudist family! if only we had been so brave, bless you all."
We can totally recommend being open & reliable, it spreads a good idea to your locality and 95% great reactions. This is surely the better way to spread acceptance?

That will make a good pamphlet. I have a couple of copy-edit suggestions, though.

In the third paragraph, the "Less waste and have more money" is a bit awkward sounding.  To my ear, "Waste less and have more money" flows more smoothly. Maybe even just "Waste less money."

The last sentence of the "Going barefoot" paragraph might work better as "The sole's sensations entice your brain..."

In the naturist resort paragraph, this seems awkward: "You will see that others are not perfect, be accepted and you will either accept yourself, or do something to improve your health." You might consider rewording it as: "You will see that no bodies are perfect, but all are accepted.  You can finally accept yourself, or decide how to change to improve your health."

In the last paragraph, "Nudist have less skin cancer" should be "Nudists have..."

As I read this thread over again there was an occasion to be at a large neighborhood gathering which featured food, music ans information booths scattered about a large area. One of the booths featured the "topfree" movement. Most of all they were promoting the fact that female breasts could be displayed legally in the city. Also much more information such as self breast exams, breast feeding and reasons not to wear a bra. Overall it seemed to be well received, only a few comments overheard by some males that they weren't anything to see, but many women expressing interest. As usual there were pamphlets available reviewing what the booth people were promoting with the hope that one they were home they would be read.

I like the idea of pamphlets but maybe break it down to different aspects. Such as health benefits, how good it is for the environment, body acceptance and finally mental health benefits. Rather than one pamphlet extolling all the virtues of nudity perhaps a few that touch on the highlights such as the women of topfree had? Just a thought on my part from my limited experience.

Good copy, Jbee
Quite a comprehensive yet brief round up of advantages of nudism
(with one exception - see below)

There are loads of these lists 'out there', I subscribe to a few naturist article aggregators (Flipboard is quite good for these) and there are articles in naturist and non naturist press from all over the world about the '20 best benefits of Naturism', 'What I found out about nudity', '10 greatest advantages of going naked' etc etc.  Your copy is as good as any of those.  It ought to go on one of those media .  You could thereby also (with appropriate links added) get your blog more widely read.
However,
Quote
40% of our oxygen intake is through our skin!
Jbee, that is plain wrong!
5 minutes googling got sufficient references to refute that altogether. here are two with links below:

It has been known since 1851 that atmospheric oxygen is taken up by the human epidermis. The contribution to total respiration is negligible.
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1113/jphysiol.2001.013067/full

Mammals are "warm-blooded" and have higher metabolic demands than ectothermic ("cold-blooded") vertebrates, and the skin is thicker and more impermeable than other vertebrates, which preclude the skin as a major source of gas exchange. However, small amounts of respiration may occur, and in bats, the highly vascularized wings may account for up to 12 percent of carbon dioxide excretion.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutaneous_respiration

Also, can you support the contention that Nudists have less skin cancer?  That seems unlikely since nudists are more exposed than average.  Or is there evidence that because we expose more and more often that we take more care with sunscreens etc against cancer risk?  Either way  you ought to have a citation or two to back up the contention.

Hmm!!! In other words, if you suffocated lungs, it would kill. If you suffocated the skin, you wouldn't die. Then again, I remember when Goldfinger painted the young woman in gold, she suffocated....  ???

Guess I can relax the next time I get body painted.

Cripe, now I have to go back and find my reference. Speaking of, there isn't enough room there for citation. I though that I'd leave that for the skeptic. Better to change this one, thank-you.

Still, the by far larger organ is the skin. The accumulation must be significant and essential. Otherwise, why in holy biology would it happen?

The most frequent places of skin cancer when dot mapped, showed clearly that they were at the bikini lines where white skin would be exposed by suit shifting and burn easier. The burning increases risk of cancers. I saw another reference more recent that showed frequency in other areas, I think one is noses. There was a study way back, and statistically, nudists had significantly less skin cancer. I don't remember the sampling, or even just when. I don't have it anymore. It expresses simply that, but couldn't conclusively tells us why.

Absolutely.  Porn exists because people are starving for the sight of another human being.  We are a very social species.  We exist only in company of our own kind.  When the culture systematically deprives us of even the sight of another human we go partly crazy and do things like porn to see and be seen together.  The whole clothes mandate is just nuts.

I don't know if they had pamphlets to hand out or not but a local non-landed nudist club has a table at the county fair here. I've never been to the fair, so I can't tell you anything else about it. I think the club is the Potomac Rambling Bares, in Northern Virginia. I do know that there have been organized group hikes, nude, of course, somewhere not that far away. Again, they weren't things I've participated in, so I can't elaborate. There are others who organize "ordinary" group hikes. They seem to be loosely organized, as in, meet at the corner of 15th and U Streets and we'll go somewhere.

I'm of two minds about such things, that is, concerning group hiking, not the nudity part. If somebody else does all the work, well, that makes it easier, but you may not care for their destination or you just may not be up to the group standards concerning hiking speed. All the groups I've seen on the trail were way younger than me, so that might be a real issue. It might be nice to meet new like-minded people but at this stage of my life, which includes being married, that might not be a good idea for me.

To go hiking with anybody else, even to include my wife, is equally problematic. It has been difficult enough to arrange a solo trip and to schedule a trip with just one other person--even my wife--just adds to the problems. My wife and I seem to live in in different time zones and besides, I know she doesn't like to go in places where I do. But she walks a lot, pounding the sidewalk. She swims, too, and will always be there as along as the pool is open. I don't go at all.

If you go alone, you always have your own way.
