Re - First Time Out this Year
« on: January 31, 2018, 09:35:34 AM »
Having moved up to Shropshire last September, I finally managed one afternoon last week to do a naked walk. Whilst the weather was general kind when we first arrived up here, we were busy settling in and finding our way around. Then winter arrived the weather was generally less favourable, and when it would have been ok I was usually locked into something else. Anyway on a day with temperatures in to low double figures, I found time in the afternoon to drive to the Wenlock Edge, and do a simple out and back walk of an hour. I didn't see anyone on the walk, and despite the fresh breeze which was mitigated to an extent by some equally naked trees I felt quite warm. I'm now looking forward to future excursions. The attached picture was taken at the end of the walk.

Good for you! Things here haven't worked out to allow any kind of extended outdoor free ranging. Between the weather, illnesses and life in general nothing has worked out yet. Thanks for the post and encouragement.

Nice pic, Johnb.  Did you wear your customary kilt after the walk?
How does the transition from Surrey to Shropshire suit you?
Surrey to Lincolnshire for me has been great.
Are you still active in BN?

First time this year is always good, John B.

Today our temp got up to about 40F, (4c) so I went out and walked around my house.  The north side is shady so I hurried back around to the south side.  Not much of a trip outside naked, but its a start on February 1.

John

I was dressed "normally" with long trousers and so forth before the walk, but to save hopping around whilst putting my trousers back on afterwards, I put a homemade wraparound skirt, which I would have used a a quick cover up if necessary. The move to Shropshire has overall been very good, and there is plenty of scope for walking up here.

Regarding BN, I had to step down from my previous roles within the LASER region when we moved, and am now in the N.W one, which covers a larger area. Craven Arms is a long way from from where many of the meetings regarding the running of the region are held, so at present my involvement is very limited.

Looked you up on the Map, JohnB
Lovely part of the country.  Any reason for choosing there?
Was it like our move which aimed to drop a wad into the pension fund?  By comparison with Surrey, comparable property in the E Midlands is much cheaper.  I guess Shropshire might be similar.

I note there is a huge thin long run of woodlands almost within walking distance.  A chap could walk through that naked for ages (providing it is wide enough to provide cover although by the look of the likely rurality there's hardly anyone around to see the said chap!)  :)
