Three Years and Going
« on: June 05, 2018, 07:18:00 PM »
The anniversary of our relocation here at FRN from TSNS is coming up in June. As I recall TSNS died on or about June 8 in 2015 and a couple days later we popped up here.

All I can say is we certainly were fortunate in having Karla and Stuart to look to for relief. They were welcoming and willing to accommodate a scraggly bunch of homeless naturists looking for a warm spot to sit.

Thank you Karla and Stuart.

Duane

You're welcome. Only to happy to give a home to a community that would otherwise disband.

YUP! Ditto on you two and your standing up for naturism and taking us in. It is all very worthwhile. There is a wealth of naturist knowledge packed away in amongst our topic drifts and banter. AND we continue........

Thank-you and warm well wishes for all of you other compadres who gather around the stove and support and entertain and....

That means that I have been doing trip reports every week on my website for three years?! And I still have some leftovers from TSNS and several weeks of new stuff, and two new trips planned and more on the bucket list! I'm going to need to put a table of contents on there, its turned into a friggin free range novel!

I think that we're going to be alright, after all.

Yes, I second those sentiments of gratitude to Stuart and Karla and couldn't put it better that Duane and JBee.
Thank you, Naked Munros!

But is it 3 years already.  Wow a mere 3 years :)  I think I was on TSNS for about 7 or 8 years - joined in 2007, when the community and conversations were already well developed going back quite a few years before that.  It became like a virtual comfortable living room where the members came in and out, chatted and shared friendship of a virtual kind.  When it went down I couldn't imagine that it could be resurrected, the old site having acquired a unique patina of time and familiarity.  But how wrong I was.  Here we are sharing a similar and equally warm correspondence.  It is a somewhat different corner, though.  Some of the old denizens have drifted away and some new ones joined us.  Yet like the fire pots of the desert Bedouin, the vital embers have been passed forward to new tribesmen and the flame of the encampment fire is once again aglow, lighting the darkness of the great cyber desert, and around which we again swap our tales and legends.

I am surprised at the 3 year mark.  Our current location is no longer new - it seems so normal. We seem to have been here longer.
And long and longer may it continue, my friends.

Well, I marked the 4th Birthday of our website TheFreeRangeNaturist.org! That also means that it is about the anniversary of the sinking of the SS TSNS and our washing up on shore here in official mass, taking up residence with our hearts.

So, call to order...Thank-you Stuart/Karla, once again for your support of naturism, us, and the comforts of home. In amongst the banter around the potbelly stove in the general store in the heart of the free range naturist community, there has accumulated a wealth of naturist lore, helpful and thought stimulating. I have personally been able to work out much of my writing and naturist thought here and keep better informed. This is as important as ever.

My very kind regards to every contributor, every friend that I have here. Seen and unseen.

Heartfelt,
Jbee

I for one hope I have not been too tiresome in my responses. I appreciate the effort that went into your own website, too. I haven't done enough in the last 50 years to flesh out a blog or website. Not enough interesting things, that is. I have been busy, though.

I think it's interesting how different websites develop their own dynamics, maybe even personalities, even when there's a lot of overlap in memberships. And yes, people come and go, just like in real life. Sometimes, when you discover a new website, you sometimes even see a familiar name.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 4 yrs. since TSNS. I’ve been here on FRN about 6. There wasn’t much activity when I joined but it was much more intimate.

Things have really taken off and the increase in membership is certainly enjoyed.
