The local county government used to pull out of state plate people over on the Interstate for Rodeo Days. They would arrest them, scare them, put them in a cage and then offer a free vacation with honors for the rodeo and the parade with the mayor, etc. We have the largest non-motorized parade in the world I'm told for the big event.

I'm glad that you had a good time. There is actually some risk in some places with some people to say something like that. No hangin's, but potential violence.

When I was a kid, sometime in the early 60’s, we were visiting relatives in Colorado. We went to see Royal Gorge in Cañon City, CO, about 40 miles west of Pueblo. Near there was an old west town, amusement park where you could go to and see folks dressed up in 19th century attire and walk around and in the old buildings.

My uncle that lived east of there a ways told my dad to not shave. He said any man that entered the park without a beard was immediately arrested and thrown in jail. Being kids, we thought it was all great fun. There was a gunfight, a public trial out in the street and a hangin’.

The bridge was pretty cool too. Highest suspension bridge in the world for a while.

The "Old Tucson" movie location is an extensive and detailed selection of recognizable movie sets. They have daily gunfights and brawls with actors. Then, there is the OK Corral in Tombstone. The old town preserved, plenty of bars and saloons. Still, they are fun once in awhile for older "kids."

This document seems a great template for someone to get AANR campaigning for federal adoption to make nudity legal across all US states!
I would be surprised if AANR didn't keep an eye on BNs activities - they may already be mobilising the campaign...or do I overestimate AANR?


I note that the nudity police guide is applicable in England and Wales only.  There is some way to go to get it UK-wide too.
Hopefully Scotland is there already.  Northern Ireland is sometimes a bit shy of addressing such issues if the recent abortion legislation controversy is anything to go by. (NI still retains illegality of abortion where the rest of the UK emancipated itself from its prior constraints many years ago).

There is a BN legal guide for Scotland and Ireland is changing rapidly. Abortion now looks highly likely to become legal in the Republic, unthinkable a few years ago and there are several recognised beaches. Northern Ireland is seeing a change in attitudes,albeit more slowly. Change will come and hopefully the attitude to prosecution will change too. At the Gathering in Dunoon naturists wandering about is accepted. We also walked naked in a local forest with a sign advising - not warning that naturists would be about and if they didn't want to see naked people go elsewhere.

Change is in the air but it does take effort.

You have to applaud the Scotland Forest people for open mindedness and emancipation.

Good for them.  Perhaps someone should ask them to replace the notice with a permanent one and stick one up everywhere and advertise their action to the Forestry commission in England & Wales!

Well, there has been progress. Even Ireland is moving forward. Can Scotland be very far behind? We sure hope not!

Unfortunately, the USA isn't a single jurisdiction for nudity laws - it's 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, plus several territories, each of which gets to make their own laws on the subject. So you have places like Vermont, with little to no restrictions on public nudity, ranging down to places like Arkansas where it's illegal even to discuss public nudity (although that law is clearly unconstitutional so I'd be surprised if it's enforced). About all we can do is work on our local governments to be sensible.

Arkansas sounds like a great place to live. Are only Republicans allowed to vote?

On top of the mish-mash of laws concerning nudity, there are lots of sheriffs who enforce the law the way they think the law should be written, not the way it is. Unfortunately, there are probably a lot of citizens who favor that idea. I think there is even a kind of competition in law enforcement to see who can be the toughest on crime.

Wow, Arkansas has always been as backward a podunk as imaginable, but making it a crime for a child to have its diaper changed is over the top!

Sorry Blue Train, but any ignorant or mentally incompetent fool can vote in Arkansas. The oligarchic party bosses do choose who they vote for, so it is generally a Republican or Repuli-crat that is running and these are required to speak and vote for the owner's interests. Much like Arizona.

That's why they have these stupid atavistic clothing requirements.
