Full Moons Rise over Brighton.
« on: December 24, 2018, 11:50:11 PM »
THE heating was set to extra warm on the i360 pod as 33 naked passengers took a flight wearing nothing but tinsel and Christmas hats.

The event was organised by Brighton Naked Bike Ride, with participants leaving their bikes – and their clothes – behind them for this festive reunion.

Nick Sayers, Brighton Naked Bike Ride co-organiser, said: “I was thrilled that Brighton Naked Bike Ride were treated to a clothes-free flight on the city’s iconic British Airways i360 in June and we were proud to appear as the back-side of the Brighton and Hove Calendar.

“It was fantastic to be invited back in December for a special Christmas reunion.

JBG, go to the site Bob linked, and wait a few seconds until a red box appears saying "See both photos". You'll then get a 2-image slide show, with little < and > marks to change views. The second picture shows what the contraption is like (and other articles elsewhere on the paper's site say it's not making much money).

It's a sort of fairground ride, Jbee.  A large doughnut shaped (torus) pod rises up a high pole say 100-150feet tall and, I think, revolves slowly and descends again to let the passengers out.  What you get is a seagull's eye view of the seaside town of Brighton.  Having been to Brighton numerous times (mostly on business but on one occasion to meet Larry Tanman!) I can tell you that an aerial view of Brighton is probably a tad underwhelming.  However, as Bob notes elsewhere, anything like this is good for naturism PR.  These sort of events are becoming increasingly frequent and hopefully before too long will be commonplace, creating improved acceptance and tolerance of the right to be nude in public doing stuff that textiles get to do all the time.
