What was the outside temperature you were shivering in, Jbee?

30 to 50F with a howling wind. Water lapping out of the pool, little whitecaps leeward.
I checked the weather srvice and the charts say that it was often in a dangerous area with the windchill.
Had it been calm, I'd have tolerated it much better, even liked it. I don't know how our Scot friend does it. Must move constantly.
I just put that article pondering it all in yesterday, a follow up.

Gosh, it was cold!  I'm surprised there wasn't frost.

Maybe the wind blew it away?

Is it that unusual for that area to get that cold. You’re pretty far south. Or was it just the wind?
I checked and Eden Springs is only at about 2,800 ft. Slightly higher than here in Vegas.

It isn't a norm. It does get cold here and there. It used to freeze here two or three times a year, but lately there are records, more days freezing, etc.

At that time you northerners were having record warmth, which is typical as of late.We seem to get opposite weather conditions. In 1996 a thing called the Siberian Express came blowing through here. This was similar. It is unusual for the National Weather Service to screw up so much, so many days in a row.

The Springs are in a river valley that goes sort of NorthEast to SouthWest. That may account for the prevailing winds. Maybe it is more windy there.
