Brian Johnson made this himself on old-fashioned movie film, but perhaps it was done in the post-film era using antiquated equipment. Anyway, he's a hiking and paddling naturist. Although he's British, he's hiked the Pacific Crest Trail 3 times, and wrote a guide book about it.

C'mon JBG--this is one place where we ought to know that they are "Munros"!

Brian Johnson is certainly alive and kicking--he's got postings on Facebook as recent as yesterday. In fact he and I seem to have 2 mutual friends. If you're willing to waste a couple of minutes on "Fesse-Buc" you can look him up as ancientbritbrian. He appears to disapprove of the current Prime Minister.

Thanks for that link to Brian Johnson, John - I’ve come across him before on the internet (those tats are pretty distinctive) doing long and short naked hikes, but I’ve never kept the links for some reason. Like his ethos.

Dang! Seemed like a healthy fellow. What got to him? I looked around, but AC/DC singer of the same name has buried him out in the net.

I have read that he had a cardiac arrest. It is very strange, for a healthy guy. Maybe is some weird effect from you- know-what- I-mean.

Sudden death of young people, including hundreds of professional athletes, this past year has often been caused by (censored).  One of the many known side effects.

Even fit and healthy people can have unremarked underlying conditions that pop up and surprise everyone. Plus there is a condition, whose name and details escape me, that can affect fit and healthy types, particularly athletes. A friend of mine, a lifelong runner and to all appearances super fit (apart from having destroyed his knees through running on hard surfaces) died suddenly at a wedding reception. His heart stopped, and he went down like he was poleaxed. Luckily that saved him, as hitting the floor restarted his heart. I think it was a similar condition that gave a Swedish (?) footballer a heart attack on the field during last year’s Euros soccer tournament.

Some people's genetics give them a less durable heart. Sometimes extra large folks still have a pumper that isn't fitted to the rest of the works. People do what they think is right and kaboom, on their typical morning jog.

Enjoy today.

Two of my friends have died from mysterious sudden heart failures having had no history and another with existing heart problems expired similarly suddenly.  A man I know in the village has a genetic cardiac condition which can cause sudden catastrophic heart failure.  His dad died from it apparently.  He has an implanted monitor that the medics keep an eye on each day.  When he gets home from work the device logs on to the house broadband and sends the day's heart monitoring to a central computer in a large hospital in an adjacent city where they can see the signs of it coming and warn him.  My dad's cousin died on a cycling holiday with friends.  He was cycling along and just fell over in the ditch stone dead!  I'm prompted to surmise that sudden death from heart failure, with no prior cause, may be more common than we realise.

I believe there’s a grown-up version of cot death, or more correctly Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, called Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. Sudden, unexplained expiry of otherwise healthy and fit person. Rare, but still a “thing”.

Shall I mention Human Spontaneous Combustion (SHC)? ::)

Cute flix:
https://www.britannica.com/story/is-spontaneous-human-combustion-real

UH OH Bob!!....Brian J. Ford has suggested that ketosis, possibly caused by alcoholism or low-carb dieting, produces acetone, which is highly flammable and could therefore lead to apparently spontaneous combustion.[22][23] (see the Wikipedia)
There would be of course no boots left as evidence by early cavemen whose acetone got to prolific. ;D

Overall, I suppose that you can go embracing it (death), or fighting it tooth and nail, but there would be much less clutter in the process to be suddenly surprised.

Then, there is the chance that you might wake to discover that the entire planet would be destroyed to make way for an intergalactic bypass, or something, like "Hitchhikers Guide."
