Hello
« on: November 02, 2021, 05:16:16 PM »
Hi everyone! You may know me from IYNO, under the same name. I joined up here to see what everyone was up to and to be able to continue talking with members as they reach the age limit on IYNO.

I like electronic hobbies such as radio, RC models, and computers. I've been into nudism for almost 5 years now. I'm 18. It's been a really wonderful and positive change to my life and I wouldn't be me without nudism. I'm very passionate about it and I hope to one day start a club or resort or something that is really good.

Hopefully I can get to know everyone here! I already think I recognize one person from reddit who goes by the name "gnarlyoldman" if you're here, what's up!

Welcome to the forum, iHateClothes.  Yes, you will get to know us here.  The trick is to join in the conversations (which are admittedly a bit sparse just at the moment!).
Most of the people that talk on this forum are ...er how can I put this...a few years ahead of you in age! :) so it would be great to hear you chiming in with the voice of (relative) youth.  We range around many subjects here which usually spring out of naturist topics, thoughts and observations but we often digress all over the place which keeps the conversation fresh.

It would be really interesting to hear what naturist activity you get up to.  Are you, like many of us here, a naked hiker?
What was your journey to discovery of the wonderful freedom and practice of naturism/nudism?
Look forward to chatting! :)
John

What made you decide to reduce the old avoirdupois in the first place, Bob, and how long has it taken you to get from the large and imposing figure you were to the much more slender figure we see today?
I echo Jbee - you are looking good on it - if a tad less imposing perhaps! :D
Many questions accumulate....
Can you share a link to learn about this carnivore diet, please?
I bet it costs a lot - decent meat is very pricey in the UK.
Do you roast a lot?  How do you take all this meat?  Can you have the occasional sandwich?  Doesn't it give you outrageous constipation? Does "meat" include chicken and fish?
Tell us more - at least I am interested.

I am feeling rather depressed at present as I too lost a lot of weight between summer 2020 and 2021 by rigorous and laborious calorie counting but with one thing and another, since about July/August, when I slackened off my rigorous and very arduous regime, I have started putting the pounds on again and have regressed back to where I was about in January.  Its so difficult to lose a pound and so easy to put  2 back on!

Hi John.   It took me a year.  I lost over 100 lbs.  Almost 10 lbs per month.

My son told me about it.   There are support groups on Facebook, MeWe, and some other places.   On FB its "World Carnivore Tribe" or on MeWe just "Carnivore Tribe."   The pinned to the top posts have a long list of medical and science information links.

Basically we eat only meat and especially fatty meat, cheese, eggs, and other animal fat products.   Eat when hungry.  Eat until not hungry.  Don't count calories.   Don't eat plants, sugar or carbs, processed plant oils, or anything vegetable except trivial quantities for spices.  Don't count calories.  And, don't over think it.  The fat is the energy food, and our bodies easily switch to using fat for energy.  Then bodies use up stored fat instead of storing more. We end up a fit healthy weight, not skinny, and not unhealthy thick.

I can't speak to prices in the UK.   Most people send a lot of money buying expensive "junk" food chips, etc.  We spend more at the meat isle, but avoid the other 13 isles at our local market.  Around here ground beef is about the same price per pound as processed brand name breakfast cereal, like Cheerios.  Much better human food.
I also have started buying 1/2 cow from a local farm.  It costs about $4 per pound when cut, wrapped, and frozen.  Really high quality meat.   It fills our freezer and takes my wife and I more than half a year to eat.  We also buy chicken, pork, and fish from a local market.

The nice thing about the carnivore way of eating is you don't ever have to go hungry.  You don't ever have to count calories.  A dinner of fatty meat makes a person feel satiated when you've had enough for your body to be healthy.   It's been over a year and I haven't gained any back.  I don't expect to.   Actually that "eat when hungry" often only means once a day for most carnivores.  Fat fills you up, and doesn't get rapidly converted to fat and stored like carbs and sugar do.  We don't get hungry again only a few hours later, and again, and again like carb eaters do.  Anyway I'm sold.  I haven't been this healthy in decades.   I'm wearing shirts I hadn't been able to wear in 40 years (when its too cold to be naked).

Check out the MeWe group Carnivore Tribe.   there is also "100% Carnivore" on both sites.

I remember going to an Abbey House Gardens clothes optional day several years ago. A guy was giving a talk on the died described here. All went well and he asked if anyone had any questions. One very mild mannered man put his hand up and quietly asked if the theories about the diet had been subject of peer reviews. The speaker litterly rocked his feet spluttered something and decided the presentation was over.

I'm not making any judgement on the diet but it was an hilarious moment seeing the way the presentation ended.

Incidentally I'm an omnivore.

That could have been a humorous moment.  Someone demanding "peer reviewed" research outside of a prepared University lecture is mostly just insulting the speaker.

If you're looking for PC, then carnivore eating isn't your cup of tea.

There is a fair amount of "peer reviewed" research that supports much of the arguments.  For example:  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5040825/

Fishand chips, It IS definitely a hijacking!
I'd like to see Ihateclothes start a thread discussing his dreams of one day starting a nude something, or other.  You know, how to go  about doing that, the goals, business model, or other motivation and sustaining quality. We've never discussed much of that.

As for the topic currently at hand. I'll stick to my like-clockwork, morning refuse dump that my mostly raw pescetarian diet gives me.

I like that Bob's diet isn't a tedious weight loss crash, but a lifestyle that can continue.
I'm also glad to hear that you are getting some good meat. I don't eat meat primarily because of the factory farm issues.  Weird grain fed, preserves and antibiotics and other health issues that have to be overcooked out of a piece of animal just can't be right.

Questions for Bob: I've always thought of wild meat as being rather lean. This ketosis is a natural reaction, a seemingly more natural diet, but then what of this call to fatty meat? How is it justified in the caveman carnivore genre? Also, another question for Bob: Is your wife doing this too and getting great results like you, or is she just enjoying your stash of meats?

I fell off my wagon too far and gained some weight last December. The year didn't get me back on track, either. It had a lot to do with exercise, but also what I was eating and how I was eating and my issues and old habits with blood sugar regulation in my body.
Anyway, started back in earnest, dropped about ten the first month, blood sugar is much better regulated and would expect dropping 5 more each month, as I have before, until I'm where I'm supposed to be. Holiday binging be damned! The difficult trick for me is getting at and keeping better exercise regimens.

One thing that Bob and I have in common, is the lack of processed foods and carbs. That's a true biggy.
Jbee
