Mono Hot Springs, CA.

I am an avid nude hiker and soaker. I'm seeking information anyone may have about the Mono Hot Springs area. I'm planning a late spring trip to the area and am curious as to whether there are opportunities for nude soaking or hiking in the area.

I've driven by there twice on the way to Edison and Florence lakes and got a different vibe each time. About 15 years ago I stopped in to visit the store and a couple walking across the road stopped me with a question. The woman was wearing a long shirt and apparently nothing else and the man had only a short sarong They appeared to be naturists. Both wore more than me. They were very tan and stood a few feet away so could only tell I was shirtless. It seemed a very laid back atmosphere and I wanted to explore further.

The next time I went there was in 2019 just before the virus and fire. I pulled in the parking lot and it was packed with people unloading packs and camping equipment and I didn't see anyone remotely appearing to be a naturists.

Does anyone have any information on the place as far as c/o soaking or hikng is concerned? Also any information on little used trails beyond Kaiser Pass in general. Thanks to anyone with information.

I've rented a remote cabin in the lower forest for a week in early June. Hoping to be clothes free for most of it. I've plenty of nude hikes planned in the area around the cabin as well.

Can't say anything for certain. There is some nudity around there. Seems that I have a vague recollection about some controversy at Lil' Eden pond many years ago. I found two websites with nude butts in Mono Hot springs. Could be a less enforced, or weekday thing. Who gets there first, or ask if someone coming up on you doesn't mind you skinny dipping.

I love the look of the terrain all rocky. I'm looking forward to hearing what you discover and your first hand reports.

A week in a cabin sounds very very good to me. DF and I are looking at spending two or three weeks on retreat in our "summer house" probably June before the monsoon rains.

I'll dig into my hot springs books and let you know if I find anything.

There is mention of Mono and lil' Eden in the2019 edition of "Hotsprings abnd Pools of the Southwest." There is the resort, Mono. There is mentioned some springs and old resort ruins tubs across the river.  Across the river, swim suits recommended in the "daytime."

Little Eden is listed as clothing optional. The water pops out from below at 100F, but it is only around 90F.
