My 2015 French Trip

Note:
Unless stated otherwise or the context implies otherwise (e.g. long drives with a non-naturist start, break or destination) you should assume that everything I do is totally naked.

Thursday to Saturday

We took our usual afternoon Portsmouth to Caen crossing once again treating the excellent meal in the waiter service restaurant as the real start of the holiday.

After a night in the Hotel du Phare (picture taken on a previous visit) we had an uneventful journey down as far as Martel in northern Lot where we stayed in the Relais St. Anne. I was able to have a quiet skinny-dip before an excellent dinner preceded by a local craft beer, accompanied by local wine and terminated with the local plum brandy with coffee.
Waking up early, as I often do, I went down to the pool again. It was locked covered but I managed to get an impromptu photo-shoot.

Unfortunately there was not an opportunity for another naked swim before we left to continue our journey.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday

On arrival at Village Naturiste du Bosc we undressed before unloading the car into our chalet.
I remained naked for the Saturday night communal meal and disco. I was dragged up to join in the dancing but then told that one must dress to dance so I clothed myself in the only “garment” which I had with me – the wrap which doubles as a sitting cloth.

Picture taken in Fuerteventura last year
As there is not bread and croissant delivery to Bosc on Sundays I drove to the baker's at the local supermarket to fetch them.

Video from last year of the same drive

In the heat of the drive down the the additional pressure in my cycle front tyre had sprung a patch from an old puncture and on investigation all the rubber solution in the repair outfit had also gone so I had hoped to get some more in the hypermarket. Unfortunately they only had replacement inner tubes so I bought one by guesswork not knowing the imperial to metric conversion.

The remainder of Sunday and Monday was spent lazing, reading, swimming and taking some video footage of the butterflies on the lavender.

Village Naturiste du Bosc, is that the lake with the huge crawdaddys that you had visited and posted on TSNS?

Dancing nude is prohibited! What A very strange custom. To me, the point of dancing would be best served by undressing to dance! I would suppose that there might be a whole slew of unconventional, silly and tantalizing textile outfits to comply with that regulation. Any anecdotes? At some resorts women do dress up in strange little kinda lingerie things and swimwear coverups. Please, don't tell me that people actually dress in pants, dresses and other insane impositions from the peculiar outer world.

JOhn, that wrap looks wholly inadequate for anything but cleaning your glasses!

JBee - the level of clothing for the women was either a pareo or sundress worn with nothing more than a paitr of knickers (often scanty) or full normal wear including underwear. For men it was mailly t-shirt and shorts. I was a bit astonished to see one name put thick underwear and shorts on for the dancing. M was greatly amused by the "towel dance" like contortions with which some of the women put on underwear after being naked for the communal meal.

John - I have a more substantial cotton Indian style lunghi for more formal occasions but I have found the thin lightweight ones are perfectly adequate for dressing for beach bars and other similar occasions and they are very convenient for carrying on my pochette.

Last night tow Brits turned up in a motorhome (RV across the puddle) and set up on one of the pitches below our chalet. I was expecting to speak to them when I passed their emplacement to and from collecting the morning croissants but they stayed firmly out of sight and left just after we finished breakfast.
M and I wondered why they bothered with paying to stay here without taking advantage of the facilities when there is free public overnight parking for camping cars at the bottom of the lane, complete with all the necessary services.
I know it would not have inhibited us.

We later found out from some other Brits that they were not naturists and had come here by mistake - in spite of passing several signs indicating that it was a naturist establishment.

A perfectly golden opportunity to experiment, most likely away from bumping into anyone they might know, ignored!

Unfortunate.

Tuesday

I hoped to try some fresh water snorkelling so after breakfast I cycled (dressed) down to the Lac de Salagou for a short swim taking only my swimming goggles. It was a very pleasant skinny-dip but the water wasn't clear enough for successful snorkelling. I also found that I hadn't pumped the front tyre up enough which made cycling back up to the naturist camp site very hard work. On trying to pump the tyre harder I found that the flimsy plastic Schraeder to high-pressure adapter for my pump had split. :(
The remainder of the day was spent lazing, reading and swimming in the site pool.

Wednesday
I took a 2 1/2 hour walk up the small canyon where the naturist camping is situated.

Video of last year's naked walks
I managed to get what should have been great footage of a very pretty tiny butterfly but when I zoomed in the camera insisted in focussing on the dried grass behind it and I failed to override it before the butterfly flew off.

Thursday
After a lazy day we both dressed to go to the local evening market for supplies and bought 25 litres of wine to take home from a local producer. Unfortunately last year's white grape harvest was ruined by bad weather so we didn't get a 10 litre box of his excellent white wine because there wasn't any. We will have to make up the deficiency from our other favourite vignerons on the way home.
Thus ended the longest period M has spent without clothes on any of our holidays and the only occasion I can remember when she has been naked more than me.
M remained clothed for a pleasant Brake Brothers' 3-course meal with aperitifs and wine at the camp bar. I was naked, of course.

Friday
After my usual stroll down to fetch the bread and croissants and enjoying them for breakfast I took a stroll down a path
I had not tried before. It led down to the road about half mile below the naturist camping where it was labelled “Rue des Carbonniers.” The word carbonnier is translated as coal mine on the information sheets but I do wonder how they got it out over the difficult terrain. Part way down I found a delightful shaded grotto with a frog and dragonfly pool. I will be going back there with the video camera before I leave.
When I got to the road I thought about walking back up the road to the camp site but discretion took the better part of valour and I decided to return using the quiet path by which I came.
BIG MISTAKE.
The path which was so easy to follow going down proved totally impossible to follow at one point and, after repeatedly returning to the last way marked location, I ended up pushing through bushes, etc. before I found a path back to the camp site. I was amazed that I got out unscathed as many of the bushes were rather thorny.

I'm now writing this up over aperitifs and nibbles before our evening meal - only the second one she has cooked while naked, whereas I am very much the truly naked chef, whether at home or on holiday.
M has embraced the totally naturist lifestyle on this trip to a far greater extent than ever before. It will be interesting to see what happens when we get home.

I have had enough bad times with those plastic Schrader to Presta adaptors that I only have metal ones now. Everywhere as my wife says as it seems I'm always digging in saddle bags, glove boxes, drawers or on the workbench looking for one. Most times one is still attached to the pump! There is also an understanding to the disappointment snorkeling as all the rain we had has left all the fresh water ponds here murkey messes. In fact some have even been closed for swimming due to the mud or have advisories for E-Coli.

But perhaps the most important question, other than the amount of time spent naked, what type of wine did you purchase? I assume that no whites but what type of reds? Not being international travelers yet we have kept our wine searches mostly along Lake Erie in Ohio and Pennsylvania to the Finger Lake Region of New York State. Also stopping at any micro-brewery along the way, just to be able to add to the beer thread if it gets resurrected here.

The wine is simply the "Vin de Table" red and rosé of that local vigneron, although we did also buy a 3-litre box of his Merlot for drinking on holiday.
As far as hte BEER thread is concerned I'm sure it is when, not if.

Saturday
Another day of lazing around with a bit of swimming including taking some underwater swimming video footage.
In the evening a Moroccan outside caterer came in to cook a Tagine for the "repas communal."
I bought some of their "delices" for afters on Sunday and then dressed in my lunghi for the disco which followed.

Sunday
I again dressed for the supermarket and Sunday breakfast croissant shopping but did the 6 mile drive each way naked, of course.

Opening the barrier on my return from the supermarket
I finally got round to downloading the video footage which I had recorded earlier in the week of a line of large ants fetching leaf litter for their nest across the drive to our chalet.
I have also acquired a decent adaptor for the HP valve on the front wheel of my bicycle at the supermarket and have got the tyres right up to pressure so, with a bit of luck, I'll be getting some cyclonue over the next few mornings.

Monday

After a lazy breakfast I had a clothed cycle ride round the end of Lake Salagou to where this road emerges on the other side.

It was flooded when the reservoir was built.
There is a lovely little bay there so I had a 20 minute skinny-dip followed by 10 minutes drying naked in the sunshine before dressing to cycle back along the roads. I removed my shorts as soon I was close enough to the naturist zone.
Another 3-course supper cooked by M - the new naked chef. Plus frites from the bar where I had another beer while they were frying.

Tuesday

I went for another cycle ride round Lake Salagou. Although not naked I have settled on having my shorts completely undone while I ride.
I cycled the access path to the traditional naturist beach as far as I could and then locked it to a tree while I walked the remainder. The baylet which I think is the traditional naturist one had been taken over by textiles so, not knowing the local conventions or being absolutely certain I had the correct cove I settled in an adjacent empty one.

After a pleasant swim I decided to walk back as far as I could naked but with my lunghi handy. Before I had gone far I spotted a butterfly which I stopped to video. I don't know if any passing walkers spotted me naked there as I was totally absorbed by the butterfly.

About halfway back to my bicycle I spotted some people walking towards me so I finished the walk wearing my lunghi, the remaining coves being inhabited by textile families. I rode back almost to the car park before putting on my shirt and shorts.
On the way back I deviated into the village of Octon to get some supplies from the village shop. Before entering the shop I needed to do my shorts up as I had been cycling with them completely undone - much more comfortable in the heat and just about modest enough.

The uphill road into the camping had me so sweaty that I stopped halfway to undress for the remainder of the ride back.

M has now been totally naked continuously since she removed the flimsy dress she wore for Saturday evening's disco.
She hasn't even used any of her pareos. This must be a record.
As we will be eating at the chalet again this evening, at the present rate she will be wearing nothing until Wednesday evening's disco.

A new to me term "cyclonue" in French. Every group accumulates its own language. Perhaps some day there will be a nude dictionary. I carnuded from the textile's house to the lake, canuded along the liberated zone until I found a good base. Yea, it is coming along, slowly.

My vacations seem so busy and short, I have to come home to relax sometimes. I should make a point to have a longer stretch vacation more like what you do, to my envy.

A quick reply to add the pictures of the ants which should have been included yesterday.

Wednesday

Having woken up early this morning I went for a naked cycle ride to investigate a cycling short-cut into the village of Octon which showed up when I checked the mileage of yesterday's ride on the ViaMichelin web site.It was only a twenty minute ride into the edge of the village and back but I did it wearing only foootwear and with no clothing back up whatsoever. It was very refreshing in the cool of early morning after the tremendously hot days we have been having.
After breakfast we returned together to the frog grotto which I stumbled across last Friday. At first I thought we were out of luck but in the end I got some footage of a little dark grey frog and some little insects floating with air bubbles on the surface. On the walk back to the car I also got some footage of a tiny butterfly.

WE then drove round to a some lakeside locations stopping for a sandwich lunch at one of them while I went for a swim at the last one we visited before heading into the village of Salasc for a coffee and then back to the naturist village where we are staying.
M dressed for this outing but I stayed naked until I got out of the car at the first lakeside location with M accepting my driving naked.
When I went for the swim we took only the towels and cold drink bottle from the car - big mistake again as I could have for some first class footage of a crayfish.
We are now both naked again and I will remain so until I wear one of my wraps for tonight's disco after the "repas communal" of moules-frites.
Just before going down to post this I saw a yellow butterfly similar to the white swallowtails and managed to get some video footage. Unfortunately the colour does not seem to show on the video.

On my attempt at posting a picture of the giant ant hill at our local state park (Spring Trip) I neglected to say that in order to keep them out of our camper the tires, supports and electrical cord have to be sprayed and traps set. There is nothing so exciting as to be awakened in the middle of the night by the karate princess as an ant travels across some part of exposed anatomy.

Much like Jbee the amount of jealousy and envy can not be described at this time. Last night brought another round of rain and the tan that I gained last winter in sunny Florida has faded and is being replaced by rust. We do have an excursion planned shortly; first to a place that I know well and then to another park that holds some promise for at least some SN. Keep the posts coming as at least I have hope for an escape plus I expect a description of the Merlot when it is enjoyed on a holiday!

"Karate Princess", I love that. I had an entire scene playing in my head from one of those "family outing" movies where unsuspecting urbanites come face to face with Mother Nature.

Thanks, I had a good chuckle. Been there!
