weve got oodles of them,  yesterday was cold and windy,  birthday suit was hidden under several layers inc boiler suit and wooly hat,  got the soup making kettle out for lunch ,  a carrot leek and nettle concoction,  it makes about 1.3 litres so still got half left for lunch today, least were back to sunshine today though still a bit chilly at moment.

nettle leaves are supposed to be blood cleansers, only eat young leaves and never in salad.  either steamed as greens or hidden in a soup.
we dont steam them but often add a few to soup. easiest/quickest way to pick is with a pair of scissors and a saucepan, no direct handling involved, but you can hand pick young leaves if your careful and take your time.

funny enough though everyones first comment at gardening naked is "mind the nettles" ive never found them to be a problem whilst gardening in my birthday suit.

We were staying at Western Sun Club a few years back and went into the local pub, The Lion Inn. I had a beer and then went for a second. I saw a pump nearby and said I'd try it. The land asked if \i saw sure as it was a bitter with nettles and it turned out to be bright green. It was OK but not one I'd choose again. There are lots of nettle beer recipes available online I prefer beer to be beer without additions, just like cheese. I can't personally be bothered with cheese with sage etc.

Whilst on the subject of cheese who likes yarg, which is a semi-hard cow's milk cheese made in Cornwall? Before being left to mature, this cheese is wrapped in nettle leaves to form an edible, though mouldy, rind. The texture varies from creamy and soft immediately under the nettle coating to a Caerphilly cheese-like crumbly texture in the middle.

Once it warms up a bit I'll be out walking avoiding the nettles wherever possible.

I fully agree with that.   Too many silly folk put all kinds of crap in their beer.  Beer should be beer.

Can't say that I've ever tried yarg.   I haven't made it to Cornwall wither so maybe that's why.

Ditto. Now the tightest restrictions have been loosened I reckon to leave a few days for the pent-up needs to be expended, and by next week it should be safe to venture out without tripping over coachloads of wide-eyed wanderers who are new to this outdoors walking lark.

Ah! My education is advanced, Davie.  Thank you.
I never realised the nettle sting was histamine reaction as well as the acid from the sting.
I haven't seen a dock leaf since I was a teenager!  As kids we regularly had nettle stings and dock leaves really worked. They must have suffered some ecological catastrophe since then!
But now I know I can put on a bit of antihistamine cream instead!

I thought I would just update you fellows on my day today.
I have been naked all day.  We are still locked down and the little woman, who was having a lazy day and spent much of it reading in bed and contrary to her usual form, didn't seem to be bothered that I remained naked.  The only times I got dressed were:  First to bring the dustbins, emptied this morning, off the street into our back garden where they are kept; I wore a boiler suit for about 2 minutes!  And second, I wore a wrap over dinner to keep the wife happy (although we both took lunch in the kitchen and I was naked throughout - that's a record, I think!).  Having got to late afternoon, I was a bit cross with myself that I had not been out on my usual 2-3 mile walk in the countryside or around the village (or both!), which, of course, would have meant dressing to go out.  On an impulse, I decided to do a walk but to do it by laps of the garden, for half an hour or one and a half miles whichever was the sooner (30 mins and 1 and a quarter miles actually).  So, naked except for huaraches, 'I hiked' the garden, paying no attention to the exposed bit where one neighbour can see over a portion of the lawn if they are in the upper rear bedrooms of their house and actively looking out.  The opposite side neighbour is masked with trees.  Eventually I reached my goal and none too soon.  Just walking around the garden like a hamster in a wheel is very tedious. and boring  My smart watch indicated I had done 28minutes of aerobic exercise, so I was happy with that albeit a small exertion, all naked.

As I neared the end of my first mile, I realised that this was not only a mile but a milestone too!  I had never walked naked for that distance before and indeed 30minutes was one of my longer stays outdoors naked.  Just a pity it wasn't in proper countryside.

The nudity continued until the 12th hour after rising when I had to put a dressing gown (bathrobe) on as the cooler air of evening had set in.  But I warmed up and have taken it off again.

So, a good day for lockdown naturism! :D

i had to go up to north somerset for work yesterday,  ended up at east harptree woods early afternoon. this is a small forestry commision site. had to park outside as the van wont go under height barriers. just took the shoulder bag with camera and wrap with me as i went for a wander.  passing the carpark there were several cars there,  and various signs saying go home , the forest will still be here next year or summit similar.   anyway i carried on.    woods were quiet and i saw nobody till nearly back at carpark after an hour or so. then met a young couple, she returned my greeting.   then spied a family approching in the distance so donned the wrap for the last few hundred yards... musnt frighten the kids an all that. dont think they were aware that i was naked until seeing them approaching.
supposed to be warm today, got a day at home planned.

John, I am disappointed  :(
Do you not remember our walk in Collyweston Woods last year?
We walked about 2.6 miles in 2 hours.

A wonderful day today. I walked about eight miles in North Warwickshire with about six naked.  I saw a couple of dog walkers right at the start  and at the end. Otherwise I saw nobody except for a few whilst I was walking along roads between fields. My batteries have been recharged!

Good heavens Norman, of course!  I totally forgot about that milestone too!!   That's odd - I have very pleasant memories of that walk.  Ok let's modify a bit... my garden walk was the longest on my own!
Time we did Collyweston again, Norman!

Woohoo, Spring has sprung! More reports, more pics.

"Go home, the forest will be here next year," ??? Round here, forests burn up, bulldozers blade off land and replace it with those stick and stucco Santa Fe houses, the creeks run one year, but not the next. Ya get it while ya can. In the National Forest, they build parking lots and a hundred Japanese tourist are out there grinning and flashing cameras, before you know it. No permanence in the southwest anymore.

WOW!, now, May is just about over. Seems quick!

Great month of May this year. DF had her plans for Greece with her daughter dashed by covid restrictions. Most of our usual life has been dashed, but it means that I have spent the month with one batch of laundry to do and that was nearly all camping stuff. I've just slipped on a kilt when necessary to take out the garbage, visit with neighbor friends once and the grocery store maybe three times. I went out the other day with the recycling in hand, plain forgetting that I wasn't dressed.

We have been sleeping out all month. I bought a 13 foot bell tent and set it up in the backyard to fit it out. The UPS has been pathetic to deliver the stove jack, so it has just been up and tempting us. I have it all set for glamping and it feels really good out there. We have slept outside every night, hanging out in the backyard eating often. Then the other times, we have been out on the trail.

The weather has been right to head to higher elevations trees springs creek, etc., but not in the forests at 8 to 10 thousand feet, just the foothills and canyons.

05-02 an evening stroll under the fuller moon that got stretched out and naked spontaneously,
05-11 Up Bug Springs Trail in the Catalina Mountains

A trip to the Huachucas Mountains to:
05-15 Oversite Canyon
05-16 Ida Canyon
05-17 Miller Canyon, old trail
05-18 Miller Canyon New Trail

This weekend, we'll spend three days ending the month on a nude backpacking expedition at around 9000 ft.

It is getting hot down here and I'm planning to head up into the hills and alpine regions in June and July for a glamping retreat that I've been pining for for a couple of years.

The weather inn the UK has been unusually hot - we have had the hottest May on record it seems.
I have had an unprecedented amount of continuous naked time and I am continuously upsetting my wife as I circulate the house and garden as nature intended.  Whilst I have pushed the boundaries, she has actually been relatively tolerant realising that it's too much bother to rein me in!  I compromise by wearing a folded sarong as a short skirt when she's around or when we are eating together which goes on quickly, doesn't really cover much and comes off in an instant when needed.  I have 3 of these in different colours.  Here is me posing in one.

Today I cropped the first of our little fruit patch, picking some gooseberries which will end up in a gooseberry fool tomorrow.
here is another pic of this fool picking amongst the prickles!

Note the hat. In hot weather I find the shade from a broad brimmed hat increases my ability to work and stay out in the heat.
I found a patch of public access commercial woodland (Forestry Commission, all pines) a few miles from home last Friday.  A friend and I circular walked it for a few miles adopting appropriate social distancing.  Beautiful show of rhododendrons.

Dang awkward chatting at 2 meters separation down a narrow path where you can only go in line not side by side.  In the quite dead acoustics of a burgeoning forest, you can't hear each other so well when facing away.  We had a great walk and although the car park was medium busy, the wood was large enough not to encounter too many people.  There were also opportunities to get off the beaten path (which was very beaten) and plunge into the undergrowth which was not too nettle ridden. So I am eyeing this one up for some potential naked wanderings.  When less people are off work in a month or two it may be much quieter on a weekday afternoon.  We'll see.
A very good week making a good month
John
