We used to take a mixture of acetylene and oxygen, fill a balloon, or exercise ball with it. Then, attache it to the end of a stick of electric conduit in the air. Then, we'd let it drop at the fire as we ran for cover. Sounded like a cannon, shook windows all over the neighborhood and created a mushroom cloud 12 feet high.
Excercise ball! Wow must have been titanic bang!
You should have been a student of Prof BD Shaw who was a legendary university lecturer who travelled the country for many years doing an amazing lecture about explosives.  I saw him live twice and left the lecture hall with ears ringing and thoroughly entertained.  The only version online is here and not the full lecture (which included loads of balloons filled with gas/oxygen mixes that gave ever louder explosions!)  This video gives only a faint idea of the huge bangs and noises he created

We did lots of pyrotechnics as kids with sodium chlorate weedkiller and sugar!  Can't buy it any more!

Information on various explosives on the internet!?! uh oh...could be a new craze. I think I'll stick to a creative burner thing to dance around naked.

In my mind, with all of the resources, ie. lots of odd card board sitting around from moving, especially a 12 foot tube, this creation is getting bigger and more complex. I might have to move it out away from my neighborhood at this rate, or else make a series of smaller structures. I've got a big yard and a wall, but I'm only about two or three blocks from the police station.

I think as the months roll by, this will be discussed and reports will be made. It would get in the way of, or lost on monthly reports...coming up soon. I'm going to start a burner thread to continue this discussion.

Another month has passed. The weather has been up and down, but increasingly warmer. No big hikes for us. We spent a weekend at the hot springs...great.

Went down south to some foothills to gather different colored rocks for a medicine wheel on a day trip.  Had it to ourselves on a Monday. Got some exercise hanging from a tree branch...gotta work out more...and lugged many a rock over river rock stream and up a hill to a car.

Naked around home constantly. Out and about in coverings for errands and sushi twice.

I managed a few walks across the local fields. Most walks were on dull or partial sunny days and a number had a cool breeze. Nevertheless I managed to walk naked on all of them. Yesterday I tried a new route in the local area. Whilst was a good walk which started out cold and dull  it became warm and sunny towards the end - typical! I manged some nude walking but being at times fairly close to a main road perhaps not the best for an all-out naturist walk. It was however good to walk on paths not previously trod.

Now the restrictions are easing I hope to get out and about further afield from home.

We have ad a few days fine and warm weather this last week.  Needless to say I have taken advantage of it with nude gardening and sitting out.  Have to be a bit careful as the tree that shields me from the neighbour's bedroom window is still devoid of foliage.  The better weather has made being skyclad in the house more comfortable too.  Being 4 day Easter holiday in lockdown (Americans - in UK a lot of people take good Friday as holiday and Easter Monday is a public holiday) we have been slugging in bed and getting up late and that sort of helps to prolong the naked time up and doing, before the wife notices! :D

April 2021 was cold, dry, and windy around here..  Even now in early May we have 60F but there has been a very unusual  cold Northeast wind all spring.  I'm getting out a little but brrrrr! That NE wind has a bit to it.

I did get out to mow my lawn on World Naked Gardening Day, or 1/2 my lawn.  I got too cold even while getting exercise so I gave up and put the rest off until the next day when the wind was not as bad.  Also cutting firewood. Several trees fell in winter wind storms.   I'm usually barefoot and often naked while running the chain saw in the woods.

It has been unusually windy here this spring, also. Perhaps it's still El Nina switching up things with the extra heat on the equator.

Went to the hot springs at the end of the month for four days. We had two or three young women tell us that we had inspired them to be more confidently naked and walk freely around whole of the area and common places like the kitchen. We stayed mostly naked, terry robes late at night, for the whole four days. We even slept with only the bug screen on the tent watching stars. We could pull away the down quilt and get right to sun bathing mode in the morning. 8)

We hit a trail in the Santa Ritas that had been on the bucket list with granddaughter, dressed. I got a feel for it.

I was going to complete that hike with a textile friend of mine a couple of weeks back when DF was in Georgia visiting. I welcomed a third person.  I expected lots of walkers like the last Sunday, but it wasn't so bad in the afternoon and slightly hotter, into the 90F's.

The textile had to cancel. I ended up naked for most  of the 5.5 miles of up and down with the other friend, who tossed her dress at the peak for a while. There was a nice creek and shade most of the way. It is probably pretty good on a week day.

It has been nice to sit and just hang out in conversation about nothing pressing with friends naked, after the isolation of covid.

After I wrote the last post the sunny dry spell continued mostly but the area of high pressure causing it drew air down from the arctic and Scandinavia making it very cold.  We have had the coldest April for 40 years.  This has been followed by cold rainy weather late Apr early May.  The spring and summer are having great difficulty in starting this year.  So naked activity even inside has been very limited.  I tried naked gardening at the weekend but had to get dressed after only a short time as it was very chilly.
Hey ho,  Roll on some better weather.  When we get a bit of warmth, I have found a long walk that I think I can do naked that I walked with a best friend (clothed) a couple of years ago and in the conversation about walking in general, I had told him about occasional naked walks I had taken in the past.  On a recent walk, he being very broad minded, I broached the subject of my wanting to do a naked walk this year and suggested that the location he had introduced me to looked a suitable venue.  Would he like to accompany me for solidarity, I asked, no need for him to be naked unless he wanted to try it.  "No" came the all too brief and firmly intoned reply after less than a millisecond!  Ah well. So much for broad mindedness.

We had couple of warm days at end of march but April though dry has been notable for the chilly breezes, that and several other factors has made this the least naked April for a long time for me.   I even spent a couple of weeks living within an hours walk of a recognized nudist beach and only got there once...just to check it out clothed for future reference.  I'm hoping to be using it properly in due course..   hopefully may will be warmer

And World Naked Gardening Day (May1) in our locale was cold, windy and occasional showers although some sun but not enough to be other than very uncomfortable.

Yes, the weather is variable everywhere. May 1 was cold and windy here too, but its been warmer later in the week.  On Wednesday I was out cutting firewood naked near the public road, with a loud chain saw to attract attention.  Very beautiful day.  Bucked up and loaded two trees that had fallen during winter storms.  Late spring is often beautiful weather but you have to pick your day according to local conditions.

We were at the hot springs, no gardening. But, I've got three new trees to plant and made arrangements on that day for a free fig tree to join the white mulberry fruiting trees and the San Pedro cactus. which I found a place for. I'm into an edible thing, although that gets into useful and permaculture desert stuff. I'll be planting different sages to color, fragrance and green this place up. Jajoba gives food. Some napalote and local prickly pear will fit outside the wall. I've got two saguaro, but they are just tiny tykes that will need a couple of more decades to flower and bud. I've let some edible weeds have a place, like mustard.
