In early June I visited Frenchman Coulee Recreation Area on the Columbia River, near Vantage, WA, USA.   There is a section of beach that is traditionally clothing optional to the south of the boat launching ramp and parking area.  This picture was taken by a nice naked woman I met there.  She and her fellow were out of beer even though it was still early afternoon.  The whole place was pretty crowded that day because it was Memorial Day Holiday.  I went back later in the week and I was the only person there.

I also did some free hiking at Squilchuck State Park near Wenatchee, WA, USA.  The trails turned out to be more used by bicyclers than hikers, and even horses.  Nobody bothered me though.

I've been having trouble with my camera. It didn't deal with the bright sun and dark shade of the forest very well.  Then, for a while my camera got stuck on "fish eye" mode.  I just want a camera that takes pictures.  All those "fancy" options just mess it up and make it difficult to use.

Back home I've been cutting firewood for next winter.  It needs to have most of the summer to dry out after being cut  and split.

With the hint on your last post, Bob, I had a quick look at your Greenbare website and had a quick range over past postings.  The thing that struck me in the most recent posts was your phenomenal progression of weight loss.  You Have done so well in reducing all the excess pounds and you seem to have lost a fair amount more from the last time I commented some months ago when I noticed you were a slighter and lankier Bob.  How do you feel?  Good I hope.  How much have you lost since starting the diet?
I embarked on a simple calorie reducing diet in April (couldn't afford a meat only diet! :) ) and have lost 13lb so far and counting.  You are an inspiration and, whilst I won't be able to lose as much as you, as you were just a tad larger to begin with, I hope I can shed proportionately as much of the old podge.
Well done and congratulations on getting leaner, Bob

Due to domestic exigencies and the very uncomfortable temperature to be clothed, I didn't walk out last Wednesday.  It'll be some days now till I get another opportunity.  Ideal weather for nude hiking is not too sunny as I get burned (cream or not!) and it's generally uncomfortable. Give me a still somewhat humid day with hazy sun for the optimum body sensuality and enjoyment of outdoor nudity.  I haven't had a nude foray since before lockdown....Must keep my eye on the ball (....or both!)
John
Ahhh! At last, I have had a FRN walk in the country.  You may remember I had done a recce of a route during the cold spring and found one.  Well, yesterday, in bright and intense sunshine (see quote - what a hypocrite am I?) I set off to rediscover that place.  And I failed! Couldn't find the exact spot even though it was off a straight country road.  I think it was just a little further than my heat tolerance could take that afternoon and/or since the crops and the nettles in the field margins are now grown high  in the field(s) that the path commenced, I either couldn't see it or couldn't get through.  So slightly disconsolately I set off back, noting with some pleasure that in the distance the small party of 2 mums 3 small daughters and 2 dogs that passed me on my way out had got into their cars and disappeared.  I half decided to strip off on the road and walk back naked but, albeit a quiet road, it is a public highway and also used by dog walkers (if the amount of roadside dogshit is anything to go by! :( ) - so I demurred on that.

And then I found a gap in the hedgerow at the end of one field.  I ventured in to a field margin of very long waist high grass and a crop of beans in pretty white, black and purple flower.  This was my chance.  The hedgerow hid me from any passers by or vehicles and the vista across the field whilst revealing a farmhouse and farm buildings in the distance was too far away for anyone to see (I should have photographed this for you but I'm afraid that didn't occur till much later!)  I happily stripped, put my clothes and phone in a drawstring bag and set off along the field pausing in the middle for a little sun bathing, contemplation of the agrarian landscape and enjoying my first naked foray since lockdown last year.  It was lovely.
I walked up the field a bit and then walked back.  Total naked time probably only 20 minutes but very welcome.  Here is a picture of me walking out....

And walking back....

All posed for the camera, of course! :)
Since the weather has been proper summer for a few days I have been naturally clad with sky as much as possible, certainly in the garden and as much as poss in the house.  As usual this has caused friction with the dear lady wife but I have been most insistent!  I can't say I won all the time but usually the compromise was to don a minimal wrap which covered the genital and buttock area whilst allowing the summer zephyrs access to the "lower regions". At all opportunities I flung this off and was naked again.  My wife doesn't really bother when I am naked on my own nor If we are upstairs very much which she connotes with bedroom.  It is when I am in the kitchen or sitting on the patio and she wants to join me that she asks me to cover the aforementioned regions.   The other reason she fears me being naked downstairs is in case of spontaneous visitors, deliveries etc. even though I have demonstrated many times that I can get 'decent' (in textile terms or indecent in naturist terms!) very quickly and answer the door without undue wait for the caller (and I have to say there have been a few which just reinforces her fossilised, self-conscious idiosyncrasies).  She is not afraid of nudity itself so much as she sleeps naked in hot weather and walks around naked on her way to the bathroom and such.  It is the infernal 'what will others think' mindset burden that she carries that I just can't get her to compromise out of ....yet.
A few sunny days to come next week....

Over on the far side of our property there are several dead pine trees.  I don't know if they died of bark beetles, or drought.   Probably both because pines that aren't able to make enough sticky sap to fight off insects are subject to infestation and death.  Anyway, today I took my PU and chain saw over to the far side.  That side has a paved road with a fair amount of traffic, especially in summer when people are going to or from some lakefront resorts, fishing places, etc..  The large (18 inches diameter) pine I decided to cut first was about 150 feet (50 meters) back from the road.  There are a few more trees but they all have branches up high, so it's clearly visible from the road.  I debated with myself whether to cover up or not.  The chain saw noise might attract attention, and my attention would be focused on my cutting so I wouldn't notice who drove past and looked.  I finally said "f it" and worked naked.

Felling trees is one of the most dangerous occupations, and its more dangerous for dead trees that may be rotten inside.  I try to be ready to run if needed.  There I was cutting away, felling the tree with the top pointed up a hill away from the road.   I usually cut about 18 inches above grade so I don't have to bend over, I need to be ready to run. Once the tree fell, I bent way over and cut the stump for firewood.  When I finished cutting through the stump I stood up and looked around.  There was a red SUV that had stopped on the road to watch.  I couldn't see who was in the SUV.  Don't know if they wanted to see a naked man, or wanted to watch a large tree being felled.

I shut off and put down the chain saw, then walked over to my PU to back it closer to the expected firewood blocks.  Always park out of range in case the tree falls the wrong direction.   About that time the red SUV drove on.  I spent the next hour or so trimming dead branches, cutting the trunk into 18 inch long blocks, and loading the blocks onto my PU.  A lot of cars drove past.  I hope they got a good view.  Finally I had a full load of wood blocks.  Lifting the big ones gets harder every year.  When I get this load split and stacked I have to go back and cut the top part of the tree into blocks and load larger branches.  I save branches bigger than about 1 1/2 inch diameter.  That will be another load.

That area has 3 more dead trees, somewhat smaller, and a few more farther and out of sight from the road.  The wood needs 6 months to dry after being split so I'm working hard to get it done.   Didn't get any pictures today.

I was out cutting dead trees for firewood again.  Beautiful midsummer weather we're having.  This time I took my camera.   You can see the public road in the background.  I load the wood on my old PU and haul it around to the other side of my land where my house and firewood stack are.  I park the PU out of range when felling the tree just in case the tree doesn't fall where I expected.  Both those side by side trees are dead. I'm going to cut the other one soon.

UPDATE:
So far I've cut and loaded 6 trees from this area.  Nobody driving past stopped to say anything.  The last dead one is fairly large and closer to the road, maybe about 60 feet, or 20 meters from traffic.   I may go get that one tomorrow or Thursday.   Doing my part to make nudity common.;

Here is a picture of cutting the tree closer to the road.   About 2 or 3 cars per minute pass on this road.

Nice that this activity is legal. We're in Vermont and feeling more relaxed about being seen. Still some knee jerk reactions and good habits prevail upon us.

Yes, the childhood training is hard to overcome.  Knee jerk reactions keep happening even for us long time nudists.  Glad you are enjoying Vermont.

We're having record heat here in WA.   Not overly hot for AZ, but most people around here don't have AC in our homes.

One month out naked across the USA. Many tales to tell.

Six days in clothing in Buffalo, ick, but even then, we went to a nude area with swimming holes and waterfalls.

CArnuding across America during the month of June. White Sands National Monument, naked watching a UFO, naked with Smokey the Bear, communing with Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, the jungles of the Ohio River Valley, Skinny Dip Falls, NY., Vermont WNHD, Nude 5K run, Ledges, with friends, other hikes,...now we're into mid-July and still staying busy on the road...naked.

John P. and Dan have become dear in the flesh friends, really enjoyed them. They showed us around, like kin. Met with Milt, too, who has made a few posts here during the years.

We're in Laurence, KS. heading out to Colorado, tonight. We got rained out of a nude stint here, as we have on several occasions during this trip. Seems that to have all of this green, it has to rain.

Not such a good month as on my last long walk I injured my foot - plantar fasciitis, a painful heal. It's not quite so bad now and we did get away for a week in mid Wales. We had a lodge with a hot tub and behind, empty country. I did manage a walk to the local trig point and the hot tub was bliss

Not such a good month as on my last long walk I injured my foot - plantar fasciitis, a painful heal.
I had that from a long arduous walk on pavement in the City of London 2005 and whilst I don't suffer today, it took a good 5 years to stop bothering me altogether.  Advice: Do calf stretching exercises regularly (daily) and any other physiotherapy that the medics prescribe - helped me a lot.
After some physiotherapy for a few months, I was sent to a podiatrist who made me some bespoke orthotic insoles for shoes.  They had an instant effect - much relief.  After about 3 years I saw a consultant who got rid of the last of it with a steroid injection.  Milder discomfort then recurred regularly for another couple of years until eventually I guess my body completed the healing process.  I am aware of the vulnerability of the plantar fascia to injury these days and so do the exercises occasionally and remain aware that when 'me feet is killin' me' to take precautions and rest them + excercises.  Barefooting is good.

That's good.  It can hit you in varying degrees, so hopefully you've just got a mild case and it heals quickly (but does anything at our age! ::)
Keep well, keep safe, have as much fun as the plague allows!

I've spoken my GP who has trained in sports injuries and am booked into a podiatrist. It started about six miles into a nine mile naturist walk with an ache in the inside of my foot. I keep exercising as advised so hopefully I'll get "My wings" back sooner rather than later.

Many thanks for the advice and support

July was mostly hot and sunny in these parts.  I spent much of July naked and wandering about on my land.   I finished most of my wood cutting of dead trees, cut split, and stacked for wood heat inext winter.  Yesterday I took my bicycle out to the Cheney Wetlands Trail and rode naked for about 5 miles.  It was hot so there wasn't anyone else there.  I don't mind occasionally passing a clothed walker or bicycler.   I took some pictures but they wouldn't open.  I got a message that the file was corrupted.  Maybe next time.   I drive there and back naked too.  Clothing is for winter when its cold.

In July, we were in Pennsylvania at a friends organic farm. Nude pond, nude farm, a nude country road walk.

We hit Michigan and visited friends first, then Turtle Lake Resort a couple of days. Drove up to the Travis City area. Stopped, for nude stroll on Lake Michigan and also found a very nice hike in the woods. Rain continued to chase us out of places. Michigan got covered, so we drove south to a lake park in Illinois, with some sneaking around, secret-like.

Carnuded (of course) across Kansas. Stopped at a riverside city campground, with a very old church across the way. With the thick tall trees, it felt like France. Managed to sleep topfree (just the net tent) and wandered about in the middle of the night without, in order to use a tree.

Then had a time hanging out in a busy creek near Boulder, Colo. where DF enjoyed the pleasures of no top laws.
Went south and spent a couple of days in majestic Rocky Mountain setting.

Hung out at Faywood Hot Springs, New Mexico.

Since being home, the monsoon has made everything green again and packed Redington Pass with water. We keep going back for day trips. Going back tomorrow, too. It is incredible, now.

Generally, we've both been happily nude, compensating for the desert heat and as our habit is.
