Ian wrote elsewhere here that, "I have always aspired to being eccentric, sadly I'm not rich enough, so I will have to settle for being weird."

Weird, odd or eccentric, secret, public or other, everyone that genuinely enjoys being naked out in nature should feel at home here. We'll get all sorts of input that way.

Whatever you are seeking to practice your outdoor activities, hopefully will be found here eventually.

WELL!!

My copy of Windows just decided to restart. Fortunately I had made a screen dump of the posts since the last visit.

After restarting, I am now switching back and forth between this screen and my document to more easily find those posts to read. There were 16 different threads to look at with several posts in each.

Newbies need to find that they're 'OK,' that they are not ALONE having this 'unusual' NEED to be naked outdoors, and they need help to learn CRAFT to realize the fulfillment of their NEED, so they can feel comfortable to enjoy the outdoor elements, naturally.

That's where I came in during 2007, I think it was, with trepidation, trembling and nervous (and incidentally with another identity!).  And I found this great bunch of people who encouraged me and advised me and steered me and restrained me and pushed me forth (and indeed, fifth!) and helped me to realise how good solitary free range naturism is (Happy with that, Dave?) and how it's not a perversion although as Larry says it is 'unusual' - but not by any means uncommon.

And I am not embarrassed to single out Ian, Larry, Dave, the late, great Alf, Duane and Hymie as my mentors, counsellors and sculptors - thank you chaps!  You helped me open up a new dimension in life.

Er.. Jbee, don't feel left out!  Whilst you have also been an utter inspiration, you came along a bit later or at least were not so present in my early TSNS days so the above crew made more impression at first.

Whilst I hope to contribute thoughts, humour and debate here and on TSNS which have some minor merit,  I do consider myself a bit of a subortdinate and a bit parasitic, in that having such a restricted SN life myself, I draw much more out of hearing about the freer range exploits of the, above mentioned, also JOhn, Ricc, Nib, Tony, jmf and others, than I am able to put in myself, my journeys in nature being so relatively rare, repetitive, local and short.  So in that respect also, I have much to be grateful for from my naked colleagues here associated.

Your humble and grateful colleague in sky,

John

We did call it "secret naturism" then John. I'm already regretting being picky about using the term here - and thanks for the thanks.

Coming out of the closet?  I DID save a copy of a post I wrote to you at that time titled, "Dear J***."  Would you like a copy of that for your posterity, John?

Glad you're having fun, naked!

As I recall, Jbee showed up after I joined the forum in June of '07, only because he forgot his screen name and password. I think he said he had been a regular contributor for a few years before that.

He will set the record straight, I'm sure.

I seem to remember him mentioning that he and DF were going to be traveling. Though I don't recall where or when.

Dim memory of that too.  Let's hope it's a new and exciting adventure in nature!

Yes, we just returned from a six day free range vacation, up through the Salt River through Showlow, out into the White Mountains south of Greer. Then across and south, then into 4x4 for many miles, until the road ran out, then beyond at the Blue River, then back into the forest, before the return journey through the high grasslands over looking the Painted Desert...naked. Whew, I took notes, and there are around 400 pictures between us. It will have to be two or three weekly installments, the first in the next few days. We had no phone service, but a brief busy stop in Alpine, and certainly no internet. We were camping and moving the whole time, and that is nearly constant busy just to eat, pitch tent, latrine, hike, stand stunned, etc.

When did I join TSNS? There was one in the early 2000's by a different guy, Corbie, who had problem with Lookee. I was in on that one, and then also Lookee's and then I didn't know which one was which or whose. It was when Jbeegoode was on an MSN account, before jbeegoode2004, which was dated when I switched to another email, which was how my TSNS moniker was created. I was off and on both sites, becoming more regular as time went on.

I think it was back when I was using "Web-TV", which would be after 2000, but before I got my first computer, which was when...I'll have to ask my son. I have a couple of things that I posted when on Web-TV, that are printed out and maybe dated on paper (Web TV had no storage) in a bin under my desk. I could dig that out. There might even be a web address. So, what this gibberish means is that I have pondered this a few times and I have only these clues.

I have some old stories, about an old girlfriend and I, dated as posted 2003, and a stuck at Ragged Top adventure that happen before that on this computer that says 2000, that was also reposted on TSNS at a later date.

I was somehow knocked off for a while, at least a year, and couldn't get back on, as I vaguely recall, because of some glich.

I do remember that the site was more of a risky/rush oriented more urban orientation at first. There was a lot of self-forced story telling, too. It then toned down over time, as more people got involved it oriented to a free range naturism, liberation and coping with adversities to naturism, with more frequent and regular posters.

There were still some residual bad feelings concerning Corbie when I was 1st on the forum. He showed up a couple times and then, so far as I know, never returned.

I didn't know much about him. He did post the Secret Naturists Handbook, which I copied. I haven't looked at that in a while to see how dated it has become. I'll have to locate it.

I copied and have Corbie's Secret Naturist Handbook that I downloaded in early 2007, and I was coincidentally reviewing it last month ... It remains QUITE relevant to the CRAFT of being naked and unseen in public places ... what we do ... it even includes 30-40 trip reports which sound similar to our experiences.

I recall Corbie never returned to Lookee's forums, because Lookee vigilantly followed the discussions and could recognize Corbie's presence, regardless of screen name, and would immediately block/cancel the account.  But, he was the original online SN pioneer ...

Interesting observations Jbee.  Those early days sound more edgy and uncertain.  I knew nothing of this past by the time I joined and came in to a well developed and matured 'style' of conversation where people seemed to know what the abiding themes were (being freely naked in nature, sharing that experience and comparing notes, the craft, to help each other enjoy the experience and avoid the disapproving elements of society....yes?) and therefore that threaded through the meandering, sinuous, amusing, interesting twists and turns of the on and off topic content.

Larry, any chance of sharing the Corbie document?  It's years since I clicked that page of TSNS...and now it's gone!  Perhaps some others too might like to revisit the gospel according to Corbie!
