AHG

Anyone definitely heading for Abbey House Gardens on 16th?

I'm of a mind to just up and go there (and hang the divorce risk!) if there's good SN company in prospect.  If we move house to where we want, I shall be an extra hour's drive away and it may not be available next year!

Weather forecast however is not good!

I am hoping to get there John (no real guarantee yet but there is nothing else in the diary at present).

The weather is a bit of a guess at present, even the professionals have no more than a vague idea. I shall be watching the XCWeather forecast but short of a snow storm weather will not stop me.

Hope to see you there; anyone else?

Have fun,

Ian.

I'll be heading to Holkham beach that day. Haven't had a single AHG visit this year, gone wrong somewhere!

I'll be boating and so won't be able to get there.

I am hoping to be there, and to bring along someone who has never been there before, and is not a member of this group.

For one reason or another, this will be my first visit this year.

Ok! Nearly 3 of us. Is that a quorum?  Gee up, Ian!
Disappointed JOhn, Tony & Nib can't make it.  Ricc? Johnbare? Davie?

I told the Mrs this afternoon that if the weather was reasonable next Sunday and there were other SNs going I would be going too and she acquiesced!  She is perhaps recognising that my naturist proclivity, anathema though it is to her, isn't going to go away spontaneously!  She wasn't delighted about it and declined the offer to come too and have a few hours mooching about historic Malmesbury while I was at the house.  However I don't think she'll try to stop me (remains to be seen, though!).  I hope I won't get a hail of emotional appeals on Saturday evening.

Stop press! E'en as I write this missive I paused to do some diary convergence with her and she suggested an alternative matter to be dealt with on 16th - dang, foiled! I reminded her of my previous earmark for that day (AHG) and she suggested an alternative date for the chore.  Woo hoo!  Progress indeed - this is nearly her permission to be a naturist! (Not quite...but nearly :) )

I do hope the weather doesn't prove to be a barrier.

I remember hearing about some issues with the continuation of the CO days at AHG from discussions on the old site.

Have all of those been resolved?

Not yet.
To the best of my knowledge the property is still on the market but as there is currently no buyer the C-O days have continued for this year.

The weather forecast is pretty poor.  50% precipitation all afternoon.
Quote from: BBC Weather
Friday heralds a return to more unsettled weather for all with a mix of showers and sunny spells. Into the weekend we will see these showers gradually push away to the east with improving conditions spreading in from the west.
So that's unusual and a change from wetness being in the west a lot.
2 advantages to going in spite 1) Less people 2) A nice walk in the rain ...oh! And 3) no sunburn!

I think the wife will be seriously considering having me committed if I set off in pouring rain but ...well, maybe last chance to visit CO.

What do others think?

John

Go for it unless it would lead to divorce.

I remember running around naked and playing in the rain when I was a little kid. No one worried about that.

Now when we do things we did in our youth we are looked on with concern or outright suspicion. Too bad we aren't allowed a few remembrances for a small amount of pleasure.

Sorry, can't make it, John ... I'll be sail-boating naked that day (Free Range?)

At first, I thought she was referring to your attendance at AHG as being "the chore" for her.  What a relief to realize I interpreted incorrectly!  The slope of the "Naturism Acceptance INCREMENTALISM Graph" seems to be getting steeper, and slipperier ... excellent!

Have fun, naked in the rain at AHG!

It is monsoon season. Check my website. I did TWO post about playing in the rain. I've never enjoyed it more! Whadda kids know!
Better still, I'm making a "Play in the Rain" thread right now. Nuduke, you shall be the first from across the pond to add to it when you get soaked a AHG, okay?

Today was thin cloud, warm, damp after night rain and humid with sun evident but behind clouds.
We had a coffee on the patio and I sat in a small puddle on a garden chair so I stood up and wandered whilst I drank my libation. She was dressed normally but I had got up late and was in a dressing gown; time - around noon
"This is perfect naturism weather" I remarked.  "You can be perfectly warm naked but no danger of sunburn or overheating."
"Oh dear, not more naturism talk" she sighed "I don't want to know."
"If the weather's like this on Sunday I'm definitely off to Malmesbury, there are a couple or three of the SN's going so it'll be nice to meet up."
"Oh do stop remarking on the fact that you want to go. Just go if you must. I just hope nobody asks me where you are."
Was the response. "And I really don't want to hear anything about it when you get back."
She's expecting me to go! And from those remarks I'll feel dead guilty about it all the way there!  But if I go and return, not having been cannibalised by the evil naturists or brainwashed by the crazed SNs, that may help. Or maybe it will make her regret being permissive if I've enjoyed myself. Her fear will be of future addiction.  I'm still torn. It's no easier for me with her being more incrementally accommodating.
