Walked out toward Havarock with a camera this morning. Stopped part way. The sun was not yet up. There was a blessed cool breeze circulating around the fresh green growth and my body. It will be 110 later today. It is a pleasant respite.

Monsoon sunrise. Lots of sunrise pics. Wondrous sunrise, golden hews of gold, silhouettes of saguaros and purple mountains. Turquoise thunderheads over the Catalinas. The sun was very bright on a streak out east before the sunrise, because White Sands Missile Range had set off a rocket a days drive away.

This body loved it, the unique smells of the monsoon, its plants, flowerings, the smell of the earth soaked with moister and cleansed.

The evaporative cooler, aka, "swampbox." Monsoons are here, it is more humid. The houses without air-conditioning are sticky. I stay in one for work with clothing on. I stay in the other nude with DF. What a difference! I get done with work and I'm stripping in my truck in the driveway! A quick shower, or sitting in front of traveling air is a wonderful experience nude. Clothed, these things are just tolerable. A quick dip under a hose, in the yard while watering nude, air dried, is so different than feeling the heat bake down on clothing with me inside of it. There is no air in there!

We need to be naked with impunity! It is just insanity to think that I suffer and tolerate parts of MY life instead of delighting in them. The answer to "why" is the kicker. It is because some guy in a miserable full body armor on these hot days will come by wanting to punish me for being not being dressed and miserable like him!

Your references to the Monsoon, Jbee, prompt me to ask if you've been affected by yesterday's dust storms that engulfed Phoenix and a swathe of AZ? If not have you ever experienced one?  If so, what's it like?

That stuff comes out of the old farm feilds gone to a place where nothing grows in Maricopa county mostly, south of Phoenix area. It seems to be getting worse. The pumped ground water on crops and the salts have ruined it.

Yup, a couple of times. Tough on a paint job. I've had to pull over, which is scary, because someone else in the brown fog might not realize what is going on and follow my lights off the road colliding with me...it happens.

Our Grand Canyon trip, which I've mentioned elsewhere, ended in Phoenix and while we were still in Phoenix, there was a dust storm, mostly occurring in the late evening when we were inside. Everything was covered in a lot of dust the next morning and for us, that was about it.

#1. This morning, I received my new yearly license plate sticker tags in the mail. I drove home and of course got comfortably undressed for the more sticky monsoon weather. I went out into the driveway with a piece of wet towel and the sticker to legalize my truck. As I began, I heard voices behind my old van next to me. It was the couple next door, that I was surprised to find in my parking area, as they emerged walking behind the big yellow vehicle. They were also surprised. It is a bit disconcerting to find me nude and be surprised when nude by two friends.

They had been out the old jeep trail to investigate a new well in the neighborhood and enjoy the desert. We stood and made some dinner plans, and discussed a maybe future joint party. We had been out hiking together before, DF and me nude, them not. They are okay with it, but still reflexes that have been ingrained for a lifetime to look away gave the encounter a sense of unusual. Still, we see them out on the town with clothing one most usually.

#2. Incremental. Last night, DF got home after doing some Myofascial Release work on a girlfriend of ours.

She told me that she had taken her swim suit, as they have a pool. Knowing DF's predilection, she was politely given a choice. A confession that she and her husband have been swimming without suits in the evenings came out. DF explained, "She NEVER skinnydips, NEVER takes her clothes off," referring to their women's group parties and our friends prudish behavior.

The two girls took a skinny-dip. Husband was invited. He declined.

I'm currently out in the western part of Massachusetts volunteering to run a cabin on the Appalachian Trail. It's on a pond that's perfect for a swim surrounded by nature, but do the hikers take advantage? I don't think any do (not that I'd ask, and the cabin isn't quite in sight of the lake). I certainly indulge when I can! Look up "Upper Goose Pond" if you're interested.

Good Morning All,
Well, I have been retired for just over a month now, things could not be better!
I have been incredibly busy with projects around the 75-year-old house, painting, patching, gardening, etc., all the tasks I did not have time for when working full time, think I am working harder now than ever before.
I have also been finding some time for myself. Starting to get back into hiking by walking Tumamoc Hill which is just west of downtown Tucson, it is a mile and a half to the top with a climb of just over 700 feet, steep in some areas, made to the top in 28 minutes.
Last Sunday, a group of us from the Mira Vista resort decided to visit Redington Pass for an afternoon of naked hiking and fun in the sun.  Approximately ten couples and a few singles made the hike down to what is known as the beach area. The weather was wonderful, plenty of sunshine, temperature was in the upper seventies, and a nice breeze through the canyon.  There was water flowing in the in the steam, enough for the falls to run and enough to keep the pools full, although the water was too cold to stay in the pools for long.  Some of us hiked further back in the canyon, while others played a few games of bocce ball and enjoyed a peaceful picnic lunch.
I will try not to be such a stranger until next time.
Have a great day!
Les

Ten couples from Mira Vista! Great!

I'm looking for support for Redington Pass to be preserved as a nude site. I've contacted the Buffetteers and have a list of users who are interested in being kept abreast. I have not been putting as much time into it as I would like to, but time should be more free in the coming months.

Do you think that any of those Mira Vista people would be interested in organizing, petitioning the Forest Service, who is going with an illegitimate group who have decided to one day close the place down to nude use? I'm thinking a counter website and facebook, petitions and counter proposal, further talks with the Forest Srevice, to let then know that we are here and support its traditional use. They also don't like big stinks.

It was a great turn out, many of those have been visiting Redington for many years, we did introduce a few newbies to the canyon as well.
I am sure a few of the MV members would be interested in helping to preserve Redington as a nude use area. This has been a battle in past years, seems whenever we elect a new Sheriff the policies or enforcement of nudity laws in the canyon changes.
Sure, if you do start a website and petition I will help were I can. Like you, I don't want to make a big stink about it and cause more problems for the area, for many years now the Forest Service and Pima County Sheriff have turned a blind eye to nudity at Redington

I walked out to Havarock the other day to rest, get away and get some mid-day sun. The javalina were gathered around it. I startled them. They ran, they stopped and eventually returned to their other resting nests. They just hangout in the the of the day, used to heat. I watched one yawn and noted her teeth. She yawned again, and then again.

I sat lovely naked on my rock. They left a few gnats there.

The next night my two stucco workers had decided to get an early start by camping out in the back yard. We were to have a fire out there, watch the stars. They are supposed to be avid campers, one wise to the edible plants of Colorado, where he grew up.

He was cooking up hamburgers in the driveway, sitting quietly on a work stool. He heard a noise, turned around and a large Havalina/javalina was a few feet behind him. He was about eyeball level for it. It realized that he was human. It snorted and ran. He just ran. They were both comical, deciding to not stay. One walked around the house with a flashlight and machete. The were afraid of waking up surrounded by wild raging Javalina!
Oh well....
