She tells me that the dermatologist had begun a lecture on tanning beds when she said that.

I just have always told the doctors, "I'm a naturist." They have assumed nude resorts, or around the house. The idea of nude hiking, a woman, is stunning I guess. One of the three asked, "Is your husband with you out there?"

When I tell them about one raw egg a day and plenty of all over sunshine curing my Vitamin D deficiency, they get thoughtful. One got thoughtful and then warned me about raw eggs. Guess ya can't win with those guys.

DF checked out well, she has lovely skin. I hope that your colonoscopy is just a routine, too. Both things nearly always turn out with no bad results.

Though not as dark as you two,JB & DF, I  do have an all over tan and am scheduled for a colonoscopy next month. I have been trying to think of a funny response like DF's in case someone comments.

Have no fear! You don't tan inside, Hymie :D

When I have had a colonoscopy they drape you in hospital gowns and give you 'modesty underpants' to wear with a hole in the back so the colonoscopist doesn't really see anything.   He or she is only interested in the bullseye of the target!  ;) ;D :o

Great to hear that DF is "spotless".
When you are tanned, tanning beds are the first thought of a dermatologist.
Yep, John P, that is the way it is for us too -no back and no bottoms. They will pretty well notice the lack of tan lines here.

I had to go to the dermatologist for skin cancer, which wasn't too serious (ears and face). The first two questions they asked was, why did you wait? Which I didn't have a good answer for, although I did have an answer. The other was, is there a history of melanoma in my family? To which the answer was no. But I always like to point out that no one in my family has ever died of cancer but they're all dead anyway. My grandmother made it to her 90s but my mother didn't make it to 50. So at 72, I'm right at the average.

I don't know if I mentioned this before somewhere else.

I hadn't given clothing much though for a few days.

Took about four loads of stuff out to the truck to go into town for the weekend. We would be dancing, a party and some shopping, maybe a swimming pool outing.

I locked the house up and got into the truck, starting the motor.

It suddenly occurred to me that I hadn't packed any clothing. I had a nearby kilt, flipflops and two pair of socks. In town there was a pair of pajama lounging pants and a couple of unimportant shirts.

A check list for three days and I forgot the clothes?

I got only the gown and a request to please lay on my left side. By the time I was in the room and I was aware others were present, I only remember someone asking, “How do you feel?. I mumbled, “I feel fi . . . “

High tech anesthetics!

Then I woke up in a different room. No opportunities for glib or witty repartee.

You get a general anaesthetic for colonoscopy in the US, Duane?  What luxury.
Wow, in the UK you have to beg for even a whiff of gas and air!
Actually it's not quite that bad.  They give you a mild sedative for a colonoscopy.  But nothing for a sigmoidoscopy - which doesn't go up so far.  I had to clench at times on my last one!

DF was boasting last evening. A friend of ours had a girls party yesterday. They were talking about going out for watzu in the pool. She finally lead the move out there. She had brought no suit and the others had. She lead the charge, inviting the others to skinny-dip. One after another they went for it, over a dozen.

They just needed a little encouragement. Most were skinny-dipping, sweat family members. The others followed suit...sans suit...peer pressure. All it took was, "I invite you to...."

As friends age, as nudity becomes less commonplace, the spirit is forgotten, or passed over, but with a little encouragement in good conditions, it flourishes, is remembered and continues. Maybe next party they will invite their men.

They all had fun, the party was bettered.

John, my guess is they do that just make the procedure run smooth by keeping people from physically and emotionally reacting. Other than that, I’ve no clue. No one asked what I wanted. SOP I guess.

Had to look up ‘watzu’. Some sort of water therapy?

Sounds relaxing. Not sure I would want to relax that much in pool of warm water. Might take the big sleep. At least someone would be watching.

You get held by someone safely. Sleeping isn't a requirement.

Her pool water is nearly perfect, not too, cold, or warm, just right, this time of year. But who could sleep in a pool with a dozen chattering naked women in it?

Often Watzu has a musical component. Certain pitched didgeridoos are being utilized, adding sound healing as a component.

Same here - and I got to watch the monitor screen while they did it.
