Driving Naked:

I'm surprised this forum doesn't have a topic for driving naked.   Personally I prefer to drive naked because the slow bounce on a car seat causes my pants or shorts to bunch up around my crotch and is uncomfortable.  It also raised the back of my shirt a little more with each bounce in the road. 

Yesterday I drove into Spokane to do some shopping, about 30 miles each way.  As I was driving to town I pass through some farming area.   I pulled over once to let a big tractor and farm machine of some kind go by.  For no apparent reason I got out of my car as soon as they had passed, walked around the car, got back in, and drove on.  It just felt good to be standing outside naked in the sun.  This photo is not from today but it hasn't been posted on this forum yet and its from another local driving naked days.




My trip took me through the middle of the city on I-90 and down to a recycling place to sell my empty soda cans.  I parked near an apartment garage, got out, put on my pants and shirt, got in and drove to the recyclers. My Mustang is difficult to remove or add clothes while inside.   Then I went a couple miles clothed to Lowe's building supply where I shopped barefoot but wearing shorts and shirt.  Coming out I stood in the Lowe's parking lot next to my car and removed my outfit before getting in and driving off. 

Today I needed to drive my wife to town this morning because her car is having new ball joints installed.  I don't drive naked with her because she is all about "what would the neighbors think," and I get enough flack just going barefoot in her company.  She accepts me naked at home, but driving with me naked in town would freak her out.  So once I dropped her off I needed to get naked again for the trip home.  I pulled into a residential neighborhood, got out and removed my clothes.   Then part way home I sopped, got out and walked around the car again.  The weather is warm and the sun feels so good.

After I got home I went for a walk to the far end of my land, not quite 1/2 mile. 

So this is my recent experience driving naked.   Now we have a topic and you all can share your stories.

I know the territory well, Bob, as I have described on many occasions!

As you know I'm not a carnuder as I don't find the mock leather seat comfortable against skin and I'm a bit 'fraidy-cat to be naked in our crowded urban streets in South London/Surrey.  However, I entirely recognise the creeping discomfort as the underpants (shorts) and trousers (pants) gradually ride up the crotch! 

There is so much carnuding reported here that hopefully this will be an amusing and busy thread.

I live far enough out of town to conserve my energy and gas. I just make a list of stops, or do errands on my way to do, or from  something else. This makes carnuding a chore in itself, because of all of the dressing, undressing. If no stops I carnude, if the last stop is far enough from home, I'm undressed in the parking lot.

That bunched up, heat in that area, spoiling of my comfort is like having frozen groceries melting in the truck. I head directly home and get naked, quicker than the groceries get to the freezer.

I've been wearing my kilt for convenience, because it Velcros off so easily and I can remain comfortable while seated and just wrap it back over me, but its not as much fun.

I have found that g-string underwear is best for avoiding underwear bunching, etc. if you aren't going commando (freeballing).
However they do need choosing with extreme care as many designs are not suitable for comfortable all day wear. It is also important not to buy too small a size.
I have made both mistakes in my time.

I understand how getting pants off and on several times is inconvenient.  I live about 12 miles from a small town and 30 miles if I need to go to the city for something.   So It works out to drive nude until I get to the first store.  Then I go about my errands covered until the last stop.  Then off go the pants or shorts and shirt for the relaxing drive home through the country.   We really don't have places to stop for anything along the way to town or back from town.

As for underwear of any kind, I quit wearing any of that stuff back around 1990.  Its not the underwear that bunches up while driving, its the pants that bunch up a little more with each bump that the car hits.

When I was in the US I needed to top up my underpants (shorts) and bought some medium price multicolour Y front briefs from Walmart (Fruit of the loom brand).
Gosh they were comfortable! They are getting a bit tatty now (didn't last long!).

It is difficult to actually recommend as it depends on one's exact anatomy.
However this is the selection which I bought on the internet recently to try out with my comments.

Whoo!  Thanks JOhn, lots of leads.  A brief look at Amazon alone gives an embarasse de richesse of styles and types.
There were so many designs one wonders why M&S don't sell them for short portly 60 somethings!!

I just added a "Carnuding Handbook" to my site. I like the review by my peers. Did I forget anything? Is there anything difficult to understand? Suggestions? I can still edit this. Please, leave any comments and discussion here, not there. I consulted three other similar things that I found on the web. I'm thinking that this should be enough. The angle thing was difficult to put across, so I kept it as basic as I could. Yea, yea, the diagram is silly looking...so are the pics. Gotta keep it light.

Excellent piece Jbee. I would say it pretty much covers everything that I practice in the craft. As for your illustrations about sight lines may I suggest using a laser pointer? When one of our neighbors built a swing, slide and elevated clubhouse I used one to determine that the only way they could see into our private area was to get on the roof. It also proved that no one could see me from the passenger side due to the center console!

I drive naked occasionally & very much enjoy it. Just last weekend, my wife & I spent the weekend on the east end of Long island for a niece's wedding. I mentioned to my wife that I was thinking of driving home naked & she didn't like that idea one bit! Then she said, "We have to get gas. How can you be naked to do that?" I gave in & didn't drive home naked. As it turned out we got our gas in NJ & you can't pump your own gas in NJ, so I could have been naked & just covered up with something while we were at the gas station.  I shouldn't have listened to her! The thought of driving naked thru one of the biggest cities in the country (New York City) was quite exciting! Maybe some other time.

They aren't cheap, but seem to be of very good quality. The only problem is, I haven't even worn them other than to try them on. I got them before our first nude cruise with the thought that I'd wear them when nudity wasn't appropriate, but never needed them. I don't wear underwear under my normal clothes either, so haven't used them that way at all. It's too bad too, because they are very nice & comfortable when I have had them on.

A laser pointer to figure the angles! I may be mistaken, but I don't remember ever hearing that one. What an excellent idea to put ones mind at ease. A definitive end to any perceptions and debate about exposure. Gotta try that one out. It would probably relax DF some more. She is concerned about breast exposure and this would give her more certainty.

Yea, that first first honeymoon experience that I mentioned over there, was amateur and we could have used some information. That classic Mercedes had roll down screens that latched to the bottom of the window. We considered ourselves thoroughly covered. It was difficult to see out, however. The car was called a saloon and we took to another definition of that through those hundreds of barren miles of west Texas. As we drove through Johnson County, it began to get dark. My new wife switched on a reading light, figuring that the curtains were drawn. I pulled off of the road to take a leak. When I looked back in, I discovered that that those screens became transparent. We had been driving in the big window, low slung car with essentially a spot light on her naked bod.

Yes, maybe this will save someone some trouble. I debated leaving it on the blog to find, or as one of the pages. I'm figuring that if I just make a policy of putting timeless stuff on there, people will look back into the archives and find value there.

I drive naked occasionally & very much enjoy it. Just last weekend, my wife & I spent the weekend on the east end of Long island for a niece's wedding. I mentioned to my wife that I was thinking of driving home naked & she didn't like that idea one bit! Then she said, "We have to get gas. How can you be naked to do that?" I gave in & didn't drive home naked. As it turned out we got our gas in NJ & you can't pump your own gas in NJ, so I could have been naked & just covered up with something while we were at the gas station.

My wife is like that too.  She is all worried about what someone will think.  I only get to drive naked by myself. 

I stop for gas naked, and rest stops, etc.  I pull up to an end pump and then stand up next to the car to put on my shorts.  It works really well when the gas fill is on the driver side, but its usually OK on the other side too.  Those big highway places with a dozen rows of pumps are good, so much going on nobody notices anyone else, and it doesn't really matter if they do.  What, are they going to tell you "put your pants on" after they saw you putting your pants on?   I also take my pants off before getting back into the car.  Then I drive off before anyone notices.  Usually they don't notice.  Occasionally I have gotten brave and filled the gas naked.  One time while I was filling naked a trucker walking back to his truck with some coffee saw me and just stood and stared.  No big deal.  And nobody else noticed.

Oregon also requires an attendant to pump  your gas.   I don't like that much.  I don't buy gas in Oregon while naked.
