GOT STOPPED NAKED!
I screwed up the other night and got stopped by a cop. I pulled off onto a side street, but it pissed off the cop, thinking that I was trying to avoid, or make a getaway...which I kinda was, but it had a lot to do with time to get my pants on. He voiced a reprimand.

I hurriedly grabbed my shorts off of the floor and attempted to slip them on in the dark, before the officer got to my door, or wondered suspiciously what I was struggling with. At one point, I had both of my legs down into only one pant leg. I managed to get the pants on.

It was casual and I got a warning. The registration came due last month, and somehow, I didn't get the notification. I'm good by the computer, but I'll have to wait a week to carnude, while I'm waiting for the yearly sticker for my license plate to come in the mail.

Dang, it was a fine evening, the sun/moon roof open and a nice flow of air all over.

weve got leather seating in the living room .... along with the laminate flooring its practical when weve got the young uns labrador shedding hair and muddy feet everywhere.   when we sit naked we use towels or a throw.

the wood effect laminate flooring is soo much cleaner/less dusty  than carpet

I have an integral died concrete floor, which is scored like large tiles and sealed glossy. It is so much cleaner than carpet, refreshing barefoot on hot day and cool inside. It warms well, too. I don't have to vacuum all over like carpet. The dust (Arizona desert, lots of dust) just piles up where we don't walk and is easy to see and sweep or mop. It is a barefoot house, we remove shoes and everything else at the door.

YIKES!   Do you know if cops generally arrest naked drivers in Arizona?   I think the law says something about exposing "to another person" and recklessly causing the other person to be alarmed.  It would be easy to interpret someone driving inside a vehicle at night has not exposed himself to other people and not caused anyone else to be alarmed.

There are probably cases where some cop arrested some naked driver.  There are probably many more incidents which didn't get into a public record because the cop ignored it.

They are trained to watch for "squirming around" or "reaching" as reaching for a gun to confront the cop.  That could go badly.

What are the other cases involving naked driving in Arizona?

When I lived in New Mexico many houses had large Saltillo tile floors.  It was very popular and much sought after.  (Saltillo tile is a type of terra-cotta tile that originates in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.)  Original old Spanish homes had their tile laid on dirt.  More modern homes had tile over concrete.  Your concrete is probably a less expensive imitation of Saltillo tile.

We have a commercial type of vinyl tile over concrete.  I don't think the concrete people here could do a good tile imitation, and the local Home Depot doesn't carry the big terra-cotta tile.

I have about 800 square feet of ceramic tile in bathrooms and entries.

Since I no longer put on shoes to go out, I don't remove shoes coming in.

Really sorry, jbee.
What are the consequences of the reprimand?  In the UK a 'Caution' is not just that - it creates a criminal record which lasts for a longggg time and has sundry adverse effects on e.g. employment prospects and ability to do voluntary work amongst a batch of negatives.

In most parts of the US a traffic offense is defined as a "civil" penalty and not a "criminal" violation.   A traffic warning is effectively only a problem if the same cop catches you again soon.  It isn't taken seriously by prospective employers or anyone else.  JBee was late paying his vehicle TAX, so they told him to pay up.   Not a criminal citation.  Not a big deal in the US.  It will effectively go away when he pays his vehicle TAX.   So many things to remember to be safe from cops on the road.

I am left feeling fortunate for only a warning, I received my plate sticker in the mail Saturday. Nothing has changed other than that.

Keeping shorts handy is a good thing. I usually have a kilt handy at least. Thinking through, having a plan, practicing plan, ready with contingencies is best. I don't drive without a net. If it doesn't become my norm, I am more likely to be more careful and aware.

Bob, that happened to me with my RX-7 back in ‘88. The engine was transformed into a boat anchor, only I didn’t end up with a hot set of wheels like you did.

Well, you dodged a close one there, Jbee. It might have been interesting, though to have found out what the official position was on naked driving.

If you are just covering up, anything will do I guess. If I’m putting something on, shorts are quickly pulled up when I keep them on the floor board. If I had a kilt I could sit on it, the wrap kind, and just secure around me.

The last time we had new carpet installed, I was there and saw what was under the old carpet.

Dust, dirt, dried up bug parts and most likely a botanists hoard of various pollens. Carpet is probably a source a many allergies and toxic reactions.

Next time, it’s all naked flooring.

DRAT!   That sucked.    Back in 88 the RX7s had problems.   I hope you got some new wheels by now.

Back sometime around 1960 the US government protected carpet mills by requiring that government insured home loans "FHA" would only be given for homes that had wall to wall carpet.  That pretty much closed down other flooring for homes.  Eventually the American carpet mills closed and moved production to Asia or somewhere anyway.   I don't think its still required.

Wall to wall carpet has many problems and collecting dirt and filth is one of them.  A lot of Americans are having carpets ripped up because of allergies and similar troubles.

Yes, they did, but it was as fast a sports car I could afford at the time.

I now have a ’79 MGB that I am slowly getting back in shape. It will be good for top down naked driving on the highway.

Dear me I am a twit!  I read the original post completely wrong.  There were a lot of posts to catch up and I was speed reading (which I am terrible at!).
I thought the reprimand was for the nudity!!  I must have skipped over

That makes sense.  As I said in the UK you can get a criminal caution for minor but unlawful (or perceived by the police to be unlawful) misdemeanors. However, similarly to the USA a car tax infringement is a minor civil matter (unless ignored or repeated several times).  Most traffic offences such as speeding, going through red lights, infringement of bus lanes, not wearing seat belt and the like carry a points system, the penalty for accumulating 12 points in 3 years being disqualification.  Parking and tax expiry don't carry points I believe.

I had to take my wife to the airport this morning.  Its about 30 miles from home.   She isn't big on nudity and I have to stop in front of the terminal and get her luggage out of the back so I am clothed going to the airport.

A fine sunny day, perfect for being naked.   I dropped her off just before 9 AM and drove off.  Still on the airport grounds I pulled into a hotel parking lot and parked near the back.  A good place to shuck off my clothes.  I have taken to going around to the passenger side and taking off my clothes.  I place them on the passenger seat, close the door, and walk around naked to the driver side to get back in.  There is a chance of being seen, which worries me, but I do it anyway.

From the airport hotel its out to the street.  Left to the airport entry road, a mile or so.  Merge onto road US-2 going east, 2 miles.  Right onto I-90 going SW, 10 miles.  Left onto state route 904 south, 5 miles.   Through the town of Cheney on 1st Street, stop at traffic lights, 3 miles. Left on Cheney-Plaza road, south, 11 miles.   Left on Long road, 1/2 mile.   Sun shining.  Radio playing. Light traffic.

Home alone for a couple of days.
